Raid that killed OBL was all a fabrication

Marie-louise Olson

A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist says that the official account of the raid which killed Osama Bin Laden in 2011 is ‘one big lie’.
Seymour Hersh, 76, said that ‘not one word’ of the Obama administration’s narrative on what happened is true.
In an interview, Hersh savages the US media for failing to challenge the White House on a whole host of issues, from NSA spying, to drone attacks, to aggression against Syria. He said the Navy Seal raid that supposedly resulted in the death of the Al-Qaeda terror leader, Hersh said, ‘not one word of it is true’.
According to Hersh - who first gained worldwide recognition in 1969 for exposing the My Lai Massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War, for which he received the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting - the problem is that the US media is allowing the Obama administration to get away with lying. ‘It’s pathetic.
They are more than obsequious, they are afraid to pick on this guy [Obama].’
The White House has refused to publicly release images of Bin Laden’s body, fuelling suspicion they are withholding information. Although the White House said the corpse was immediately ‘buried at sea’ within 24 hours of his death in line with Islamic tradition, it quickly emerged that this was not standard practice.
It has also been suggested that the White House has changed its story multiple times, according to infowars.com.
They initially claimed that pictures from the ‘situation room’ show Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Hilary Clinton and the rest of the security team watching the raid live, when in fact there was a blackout on the feed.
Neighbours close to the Pakistani compound in Abbottabad also said they had never seen Bin Laden in the area. Hersh said the American press spends ‘so much more time carrying water for Obama than I ever thought they would’.
In his opinion, the solution would be to shut down news networks like NBC and ABC and fire 90 per cent of mainstream editors and replace them with ‘real’ journalists who are not afraid to speak truth to power.
‘The republic’s in trouble, we lie about everything, lying has become the staple,’ he said.–Daily Mai

Pulitzer-Prize-Winning Reporter Seymour Hersh: Bin Laden Raid Fabricated - Liberty Crier

Seymour Hersh has got some extreme ideas on how to fix journalism – close down the news bureaus of NBC and ABC, sack 90% of editors in publishing and get back to the fundamental job of journalists which, he says, is to be an outsider.

It doesn’t take much to fire up Hersh, the investigative journalist who has been the nemesis of US presidents since the 1960s and who was once described by the Republican party as “the closest thing American journalism has to a terrorist”.

I guess we should all take his word :)

The words of an individual journalist should never be taken as facts unless the journalist has evidence to back up their claims. But if the same journalist said BS against Pakistan, such as claiming that Pakistan supports Taliban or that Pakistan sheltered OBL then I am sure bharatis would be all over that report.

...Only because that's a claim that has enough evidence to back up. Once OBL was found to be living in a Pakistani military cantonment of all places, and killed by foreign commandoes in a spectacular raid, it doesn't really stretch belief to make that claim.

On the other hand, after the US military and civil agencies, Pakistani military and civil agencies, and al Qaeda all acknowledged the fact, if a journalist says "it was all made up", well you see that we would be skeptical and expect him or her to bring some sound evidence.

If a person is discovered naked in bed with another person, and they say that they don't know each other or how they wound up in that compromising situation, it would be on them to explain why we should believe them.

The big issue is to convence the world, but those peoples, who believe even in bollywood massala stories :/

Some intro. of Mr. Hersh.... in response to your attempt to undermine his stature.

Seymour (Sy) Myron Hersh (born April 8, 1937) is an American Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist and author based in Washington, D.C. He is a regular contributor to The New Yorker magazine on military and security matters. He has also won two National Magazine Awards and is a "five-time Polk winner and recipient of the 2004 George Orwell Award."[5]
He first gained worldwide recognition in 1969 for exposing the My Lai Massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War, for which he received the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting. His 2004 reports on the US military's mistreatment of detainees at Abu Ghraib prison gained much attention.

All what he is saying is that... why no one in American media seem to question the apparent fairy tales of US state.
He even mentioned technical reasons.. which declare the famous photo of US rulers a fake.

one day a new snowden will bring out in public domains cables about this too

don't know why then PAF scrambled the jets that night.. :hitwall:

OBL died in 2008, in qandhar, which is the fact.. most of the Taliban knows this fact. You can go round n round around the story but facts are;

1) USA Army through the world most wanted person into the sea for whome they destroyed 3 countries completely. And waited till Sharks came to eat his body.
2) DNA results arrived after almost 1 n half months. What they matched DNA but didn't release the report 1 n half month? What?
3) The story of residents and NatGeo don't matches at all. Please explain this...
4) US Officials changed the story for 4 times. What is the hitch?

I don't like conspiracy theories, but above facts brings enough doubt on OBL Abotabad drama. The only plus point with USA is that, PA and GoP is quiet till now.

Naa he committed a crime:)

Yes, and should be hanged for his sin (giving information to US instead of Pakistan)

Did you ask the question why PA and GoP are keeping quiet and not raising the questions you are raising? Afterall OBL from Abottabad "drama" is a slander to GoP and especially raises the question about PA's credibility and ability to protect Pakistan.

PPP Government never had any credibility, and known for being paid. And PA stand after Musharaf is pretty clear that they will stay with any/all GoP decisions.. Which is good and also bad.. but that's not the discussion here..
