Litman you touched my heart todaysome of the maintenance hangers and buildings in the photos are still there at risalpur.
the building of old officers mess and commandant CFT's residence are also clearly visible which have been renovated and extended over the period of decades .
those who constructed these buildings and those who lived in them are most likely dead by now. the world doesnt even know who they were . they are just "puranay zamanay k insan". and its not even 100 year old. after 100 years from today majority of us will also be forgotten and will be called as puranay zamanay k insan. this world is such a temporary place but still we think and act as if we are going to stay here for thousands of years.
The Golden days.
Litman you touched my heart today
in one of these pics you can see the mountains of malakand and swat in the background. how beautiful those places would have been at that time. very little population, no deforestation . i am sure at that time swat would have been nothing less than paradise on earth.Besides human, who roamed around at that time, who built it, who used it, etc
I also think about the landscape.. so barren, vast and desolate.. now overcome by concrete jungle.. I miss 'Aam bagh' in my native town Okara.. it was taken down now.. and some old municipal planted trees too.. at least those were 100 years old.
I didnot mean it in that way. Sit back down the British gave you your independence. They could have easily left us all in the hands of the hindus. You would have liked that wouldn't you?Ahem golden days??? How exactly??? Those were the days of slavery and colonial occupation, how were they golden? Unless ur british or one of their descendants.

So we took these incredibly unfair borders and accepted them.Just like you say above we took them. So why blame the british.Maybe u meant it in other way. But the brits didnt give it to us, we took it.

The reality is if we had protested the British would have said fine your choice and would have given everything to hindus. What are the current 200 million muslims in India doing. Nothing. That would have been our fate if we had not taken what we got from the British. Whatever happened was for the best and by God's will. Do you question God's will son?
Yes we took what we could. British were gracious enough to agree to Quaid. We got way more than the greedy hindus would ever let us have. So the British weren't as bad. This is the point we debated about.Lolz nice way to equate everything with God's will. If there was no separation, there would certainly have been a huge civil war. The result of which were uncertain. The brits knew this and managed partirion. Once accepting partition, our leaders had nochoice but to accept the unfair partition.

Oh dear....we fought for independence. The hindus didnt fight.I didnot mean it in that way. Sit back down the British gave you your independence. They could have easily left us all in the hands of the hindus. You would have liked that wouldn't you?
Remember Gandhis marches? They fought alright.Oh dear....we fought for independence. The hindus didnt fight.
