DHAKA, Bangladesh - Before Donald Lu's expected visit, Rear Admiral Eileen Laubacher, the U.S. Senior Director for South Asia, is scheduled to arrive on Saturday evening to discuss issues of mutual interest with Bangladesh.

Donald Lu, appointed Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs on September 15, 2021, is expected to begin his visit to Bangladesh on January 15.

FM Momen expressed his delight that US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu will visit Bangladesh. "In this area, he is like a policymaker. We warmly welcome him."

"We have a great relationship with the United States. We have numerous engagements with the United States. When he (Donald Lu) arrives, there will be discussions on various issues."

He also hoped that Donald Lu's visit would contribute to the two countries' strong relationship.

In response to a reporter's question about US sanctions on RAB, the minister stated that a single issue does not determine bilateral relations.

"The United States is both our largest consumer and investor. We don't have to be concerned about a single issue because we have engagements in several areas. We share similar values and principles."

He stated that the United States and Bangladesh both desire a democratic system.

"The United States wants to protect human rights. We want to as well. Three million Bangladeshis have given their lives in the name of human rights, justice, and democracy," he said.

"We'll talk about a variety of topics. It is open. Many topics will be covered."

I am happy to note that our Alga Momen did not wet his pants at the news of Lu's Dhaka visit. Instead, he is delighted.

Let us see his smiling face when Lu asks him about the murder of the US citizen Abhijit Roy. Hasina's hoodlums killed him near a temple and Hasina squarely blamed Islamic people for the murder to get American sympathy and to plead that she is America's dog.

Hasina arrested innocent people and her Kangaroo court condemned them to the death penalty only to be snatched away by another group of Hasina hoodlums.

But, why snatching? It is because the FBI wanted to ask them in jail about the Abhijit murder. Hasina panicked and organized their escape. Probably, they have been killed.

Now, with Lu's visit, the GoB will have to answer many questions about Abhijit's murder and the other 600 souls who were forced to disappear by the Daini Hasina.

Democracy and fair election is coming in Bangladesh. Finally!!!

Here - no sign is good when you see a man of Donald Lu's stature coming to Bangladesh to question FM Momen and demand some answers.

This man was supposed to have unseated Imran Khan in Pakistan.

OK - we will see what Alga Momen does when he greets Donald Lu at the Airport. His assistant better keep a set of fresh underwear and pants handy. Just don't embarrass our country by saying US is new husband of Bangladesh now....

@Bilal9, where is our BAL chamcha @UKBengali? He should come out to eat Lu alive and make big statements like BD will overtake Japan in 2041.

I heard Japan fears BD economic might.

UKBengali bad den - khod Hasina'r dekhen dysentery shuru hoisey kina....

Proof can be seen in recent days in Bangladeshi and other media.

This idiot Hasina, instead of dealing with the US in diplomatic finesse decided to harass the US ambassador.

Result is never good and will NOT BE GOOD. Majkhaney gareeb lok na khaia morbey.

Goriber huq loot kora banker taka nia mastani - ami jani ki honu rey.....

This was also predicted by an Urdu vlogger some time ago....

Many BD politicians are unruly and want to intimidate people with abuses. But, Ambassador Hass is not an individual street man in Dhaka.

He is the Ambassador of mighty America. Something bad must be waiting for Hasina. This woman was brought up in Tungipara in a village atmosphere. She says whatever she wants to say.

She should not be allowed to meet anyone above a Senior Secretary or a 4-star general which is already two ranks above her.
The US needs to stop sending nobodies if they want a serious improvement in relationship.

Hasina Bibi wants to keep the US Director waiting and begging to meet her. Hasina thinks the Director will lose her job if she fails to meet BongyoKonnya Hasina Bibi.

Yes, Hasina waited for a week to get an appointment with the President on an unofficial visit there (was it a UN meeting?), but she failed. She became very annoyed and slapped Joy Kumar for failing to arrange an appointment.

Hasina thinks that the entire world is like BD. Spend a few million dollars for the powerful Democratic Party people, they will arrange a meeting with the President.

Now, Hasina should teach Biden a lesson by not meeting his Security Director.

An analysis of the visits by high-ranked US officials vis-a-vis the visit of the Chinese FM.

Mufassil uncouth people like her - who only use goondas as her power-bank and are used to push-and-shove politics (as well as "Dekh Lenge" and "Hum jitenge" Bhojpuri type speeches), do not realize political finesse and tactics - how to play in the big leagues. She thinks her Bangladesh looting and influencing with looted money is how the world runs. These people have a long way to go.

Just rank losers.

US, Pakistan, Bangladesh & China should form an alliance to bankanize India.

The way things are going, they are going to auto-Balkanize.

Too many differences in language and culture and due to those differences - too much hate back and forth.

Northerners and Westerns hate Southerners and Easterners (Bengalis as well as all North-Eastern "Cheeni" tribes, per bhakts).

BJP was supposed to unite these people but the ideological differences go down way too deep. They see things very differently.

In any case, this is off topic for this thread, so I shall regress.

Since when India is a superpower that all other super-powers have to join in an alliance?

India is mostly an issue for BD and Pakistan. In the case of BD, it is India that creates problems. But, in the case of Pakistan, it is Pakistan that has been creating problems for India in such a way that it will soon go bankrupt.

Finally, the Indian policy is becoming a success. By forcing Pakistan to compete in military expenditures, India has successfully bankrupted Pakistan.

Even now, you guys do not open your eyes. You are such a bunch of irrational people!! I personally want Pakistan to reset its priorities to safeguard its national interests as well as integrity.

Pakistan has more nukes than India.

Pakistan subs are better than Indian Navy's subs

PAF fighters are superior to IAF fighters.

We have all the ace cards to balkanize India.

If BD is scraed of joining Pakistan then no one can help you.
