Tunahan Kuzu, the leader of DENK Party calls Dutch parliament's refusal a shame.

"We call government to halt trade with Myanmar which has been strenghtened during a visit in 2015." Mr. Kuzu told Anadolu Agency.

He also accused Dutch parliament to practise double standarts.

The DENK (Think) Party -- formed by ethnic Turkish lawmakers Tunahan Kuzu and Selcuk Ozturk in 2015 after their expulsion from the Labor Party -- won three seats in its first election.

“As [people] of foreign origin, we gained this success together,” Kuzu said. “Your votes serve as the best answer to rising racism and Islamophobia in the Netherlands. The Netherlands belongs to us all.”."

All the Tweet says is that QUESTIONS about the situation have not been granted. There is not mention of a DEBATE

The House of Representatives at work
The work of MPs largely consists of attending meetings and voting on political issues. These activities are preceded by the necessary preparations, such as the close examination of documents, working visits, opportunities for the public to make their opinions heard, consultations with the voters and the general public.

Important issues are almost always dealt with in plenary sittings, for instance general (political or financial) considerations, debates about important topical issues and the deliberations on bills and budgets. Final decision-making also takes place in plenary sittings, e.g. voting on bills, amendments and motions.

The House of Representatives follows an agenda that is drawn up several times a week during the so-called “arrangement of business”. Apart from the plenary sittings, a large number of committee meetings are also held. The meetings of the House of Representatives are almost always public. All public meetings are recorded.

I think they are likely more busy funishing up the formation process and getting a new administration to work (it has been some time since the elections ;-). The old administration is 'demissionair' and will not engage in new policy, is just keeping things up and running. So, who does Kuzu think he is appealing to?

Also, we are close upon the 3rd tuesday in September, which is when the coming year's budget is revealed and discussed.

On a sidenote: do members of parliament not get enough allowance to get a hairstlylist occasionally?

@A.P. Richelieu misinterpretation of Human Rights by Dutch Parliament?
or, in your case, lack of knowledge about the system?

I don't need to know the rules of Dutch Parliament to understand that matters of grave importance should be discussed post haste. By applying rules to sideline the issue, you are actually showing lack of concern for the humanitarian crisis. I am quite sure thete was time to issue a statement, detailed policy can follow later. Also, I am quite sure Mr. Kuzu understands all the rules, much more than you or me.

@A.P. Richelieu misinterpretation of Human Rights by Dutch Parliament?

No, Free Speech means that You are allowed to say you meaning without consequences.
It does not mean that you have the right to blabber about anything when you
attend a meeting with a certain agenda.
You will be rude, and asked to refrain from further derailing the meeting.
You also do not have the right to speak loudly, in special (silent) compartments on trains.

He apparantly can tweet his opinion so his human rights are not violated.

Since You are blabbering about a lot of things where You have no clue,
I am going to use my right as a pdf member and ignore You.

Wahwahwah. STFU about the politics in my country: you know nothing about them. Kuzu is an idiot.

Shameful response by the Dutch government. A spade needs to be called a spade here.

.
Thank you as that is what I meant, Mr. Kuzu calls it a shame.
That's his good right. But lets not pretend the Netherlands shows no concern, just because he suggests so, or folks here interprete what he said in that way.

Read for example https://translate.google.com/transl...stemt-voor-motie-over-de-rohingya/&edit-text=

DENK asks questions about issues abroad so often, that they are sometimes disapproved in the Chamber. Maybe they should pick a few things to focus on to increase their rate of success.

There is no government response: Kuzu was not allowed to ask question in parliament by ... the parliamentary majority. So, there is no debate with a minister or other politicial responsible person speaking on behalf of the government

You can choose to ignore me, but the Dutch Parliament has displayed lack of concern for Human Rights by failing to address a humanitarian crisis quickly. This is not about knowing rules and regulations or politics, it'd about humanity.

We can come back in the future to see what any EU nation does.

For that matter, even Pakistani Parliament has failed, but hey we altrady stand accused of not upholding human rights.

Blahblahblah. You have no idea what the Dutch Parliament does or doesn't.
Have you even bothered to check their actions (i.e. besides the above Kuzu diarrhea blurb?).

Says the dutchman waltzing around a Pakistani Internet forum as a self declared expert.

I think @Penguin has proven his expertise on defence matters through numerous insightful contributions over a large period of time. His qualifications as a defence expert stand unquestioned.
