Qatar offers visa-free entry to 80 nationalities

What about the Muslim Ummah please? Kaffir Yes Ummah No. Not nice. Arabs .......

There are alot of predominantly Muslim countries on the list.

Why the anger young man?

Many muslim countries included sir. Pakistan is not included, may be we deserved that. But please don't take it personally. Its Qatari country, their wish.

There are 80 countries listed. Please list the number of Muslim countries and then express that as a percentage. Please. I am not good at maths. Maybe one of the techie Indian product of some IIT can help out with the maths?

Six Muslim countries in list of 80 and that is being liberal equates to 80/6=7.5% I think.

Wow! All this because Kaptaan, no offence, forgot the context?
Those countries that unilaterally blockaded Qatar so it would
behave as they want it to are all part of Ummah?

So the fact that Ummah is not the criteria was in fact the point
of origin, the source of their reflection. Of course that apparte-
nance meant nothing!

Which nobody remembered except Mulubja
who phrased it poorly on account of national zeal . . .

At 54 I think I have clocked them all.

LOL, you're actually a bit older than me, kudos mate! :enjoy:

And a great day all, Tay.

. .
forgot the context?
No, on the contrary I knew the context of the politics with Turkey playing significant role in this. I was using rather crudely I must say this event to demonstrate that there is no such thing as "ummah" and that what we have is lots of countries looking after their own 'tails'. As regards isolating Qatar from the 'ummah' is a farce. Turkey is worth more then the next dozen one bit countries in the "boycot" category. As long as Qatar has Turkey I can't see that country being isolated.

bit older than me
Age is a number. Maturity is a quality. What do you French say about "wine" and ..... ?

.
lets see this problem from different point of view
they sell their gas and oil to "white" people
"white" people running their projects
they drill gas and oils then buy it from them
they import everything they need from them from shiny airplanes to tiny work utilites
and our western friends even provide security for them so all of their needs depend on "whites"
and its normal they behave like this .

should we really blame our Qatari brothers or should we blame ourself ?

I don't blame anyone for whatever decisions they make. But I will just add some of my opinion based on looking at Qatari society from personal experience.

With regards to the oil and gas business, do you know how many Pakistanis are working as engineers and other critical level jobs etc within their installations? I know some who they beg to stay on whenever they say they are going to leave and increase their salaries and packages. What does that tell me? That they do need competent Pakistanis and respect them for their profession but it seems to be relegated to individual Pakistanis and doesn't extrapolate in to a whole national thing like it does for Westerners. Why not?

I also know Pakistanis in Qatari Army! The Western friends are certainly providing security, but so are their eastern "brothers". If a non GCC army was to invade GCC, you can bet a million pounds that Pakistan would jump in, and rightly so may I add.

I do understand your points, I don't disagree with them. But surely, are Pakistanis that much of a liability?

Yep the social hierarchy works like this

Native Arab
GCC Arab and Whites
Non-GCC Arab
Non-White Western Passport holders
Africans. South East Asians and South Asians

I mean discrimination exists in all parts of the world but it is done so openly and formalized over there (see links below)

Personally I like Qatar a lot, I think they are more inclined towards reform and are nudging along quietly and we as outsiders will always have our ways of looking at things. But the social hierarchy in that sense is pretty much spot on. You even get huge packages simply for having a British passport in comparison to non Brits. Not saying it's wrong, it's their country I guess, just an observation.

you summarize it quite well

.
Modi had bribed Qatar sufficiently during crisis by sending shiploads of humanitarian cargo.
Qatar reciprocated India in its own way.
You spit Modi out on every thread you touch. Nice going dude:thinktank::laughcry:

"In the UK, there's a whole gamut of illegal words you can't use, which go way too far," he said. "So coming from that culture, it's completely shocking when you get here for the first time and see adverts that say 'no Egyptians'.
