We are alone in our solar system
While I agree for the most part, I do have to disagree with the high lighted area.Reminds me of this guy:

I highly doubt a pointy rock is evidence of Aliens. We're most likely not alone in the universe, but there are no little green men on Mars.
Any alien civilization advanced enough to make contact would have done so by now. The simple fact is that not only is the universe massive, it's also very old. It'd have to be a big coincidence for two advanced civilizations to exist close to eachother at the same point in time. By the time we reach far enough to discover Alien life, it is entirely possible it'd have gone extinct. Or, conversely, it is entirely possible that by the time Aliens reach us, the whole of humanity would have decomposed and turned into fossil fuels.
We are alone in our solar system not the universe.
Well, I believed they'd take advantage of the divisions among humans to take over the planet to serve their own interest, but I do realize that this assessment is based on what we humans would do if we found a planet as divided and as resource-rich as the Earth. (provided that we had the capability to reach it)While I agree for the most part, I do have to disagree with the high lighted area.
If aliens know of our existence, there could be a sort of "prime directive" law that forbids them from making contact with humanity, so as to let humanity develop on it's own terms, until such a time when humanity is finally united enough and/or ready to make contact.
Who really knows? May be humanity will make contact within our life times, or perhaps we really are alone in this universe.Well, I believed they'd take advantage of the divisions among humans to take over the planet to serve their own interest, but I do realize that this assessment is based on what we humans would do if we found a planet as divided and as resource-rich as the Earth. It is entirely possible that aliens would be above that and would have developed some sort of prime directive. But we'll never really know till we are able to ask the aliens themselves, and for some reason I don't see that happening in my lifetime.
