Mr TTA who was the CM of Punjab during those "past three years"?Nothing happening in Faisalabad. There was an anti-encroachment operation lead by then DCO Nasim Saqiq under Shehbaz Sahrif's gov. It was EXCELLENT. All roads were cleared to illegal occupation, streets were widened as a result, there was a very strict check on wrong parking, palazas, shops and a property of some strong people was destroyed in that drive. You could drive right up to center of the city at Faisalabad Clock Tower in your car and park there with ease. The city was so much better. In last three years, it have ALL been undone. There are encroachments everywhere. Driving on the roads, specially in the old bazar area is messy and impossible. Nothing have started yet in this current anti-encroachment drive of PTI. Lets see if it ever comes to Faisalabad.
Have patience, if they have started it in Lahore, it will definitely start in FSD as well.. But you can raise your voice and contact the right authorities for info.. I'm sure that it is in the pipeline. Little bit of patience helps reduce the stress and anger..
That is the institutional change we need. Similarly here in Sweden, there are no 5 yearly population censuses because it is an ongoing process i.e. each new born, dead, emigrant, immigrant and refugee is counted by the concerned authority so the statistics stay up to date...no need for spending billion of Rs and deploying army to carry out a censuses and even it is not credible enough. While in Sweden each and every person is marked..the government knows everything....This is where Pakistan fails. I swear I have never seen any such grand "encroachment operations" in my entire life in UK. What I do know is if I leave something - like a metal bin on the pavement that takes away 6 inches of the pavement some old English hag will walk past, look at me in annoyed way, complain that the pavement is obstructed by me and caused her inconvenience. Within a a day I will have some young innocent looking female employee of the local council environment office knocking at my door giving me a notice and warning to remove the obstruction or face going to court.
In Pakistan the entire officialdom is asleep and over the months and years entire roads are built on or even occupied and nothing is done. Then some huge operation will be launched. Whatever happened to the idea of 'nipping evil in the bud'???
