Rajkot: PUBG-addicted 12-year-old steals Rs 3 lakh from home
Updated: Mar 1, 2020, 08:43 IST

RAJKOT: When the parents of a 12-year-old boy in Adesar village of Rapar taluka in Kutch district found that cash, in small amount, was vanishing from their cupboard they grew suspicious. But when the figure of the stolen cash crossed Rs 3 lakh, they were stunned, also because it was their son who had been stealing the money.

“When the parents kept a watch, one night they noticed their 12-year-old boy sneaking into the room and stealing cash from the cupboard. When questioned, the boy said he needed the cash which he had lost in PUBG mobile gaming he used to play with his friends,” said an official from Adesar police station.

The worried parents, who own a grocery store in Adesar, approached the police. The police found that a group of teenage boys of their son’s age group had got him addicted to mobile gaming.

“When we traced the boys, we found that from the cash they had received from the victim, the accused had purchased expensive cellphones, about which their parents had not questioned them,” added the official.

Though the police have taken an complaint in this case, action will be taken as per law as all the accused are minors.
