PTI cancels Karachi rally on May 1 due to security concerns

Islamabad (Online): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf announced on Saturday that the party has cancelled its public rally in Karachi scheduled on May 1 citing security concerns. PTI Chairman Imran Khan was scheduled to address the rally. A PTI spokesman said that rally has been cancelled due to worsening law and order situation. The public rally, however, has been shifted to Sukkar on May 1, the spokesman added. Karachi has seen three major terrorist attacks targeting MQM and ANP this week in which over a dozen people died.

Yes its bad news, but the law and order situation in Karachi is critical, I think at the moment PTI has made the right choice, security comes first, The ECP is too busy cautioning Imran khan, yet they cant provide protection to political parties, Why is the caretaker government not sending the Army in Karachi to control law and order situation.

This may have a negative impact on the PTI election campaign but safety is more important! Rural sindh also needs effective campaigning so sift the May 1 jalsa to Sukkar was a good decision, But the karachi Jalsa should not be cancelled it should be rescheduled.

This cancellation of rally has nothing to do with MQM, in the current situation an option of a big rally is very very risky it cud put thousands of life's at stake, its better be safe.

Yet again Karachi is missed out due to the situation there. It's disappointing to see such a wonderful city deprived of PTI's jalsa.
