Protest lodged with Iran over firing of mortar shells

QUETTA: Pakistan’s border authorities lodged a strong protest on Friday with Iranian authorities on firing of mortar shells in the Parom area of Panjgur, the bordering district of Pakistan with Iran.

Sources said that Pakistani officials lodged the protest with Iran’s border authorities in writing and termed the incident a violation of Pakistan’s territory.

Sources said that Pakistan’s officials had demanded a flag meeting with Iranian authorities on the issue.

“They had fired 20 mortar shells from the Iranian border,” a security official said, adding that fortunately no loss of life and property took place as shells exploded away from human settlements in Parom.

Exactly, people act like this is an attack against Pakistan. It's an attack against terrorists whom are a problem for both nations. I think both nation should do their best to cooperate, but of course there are those elements, we both know who they are who try 24/7 to cause tension between us.

Why do people get worked up over Iran attacking terrorists? it's not like they're doing something which is a negative for you. If they manage to kill even one terrorist, then that is one less terrorist to cause problems for Iran and Pakistan.

I am sure iranian forces didnt target Pak army, but still they shouldnt fire into pakistani territory.

Pakistan & Iran must agree on how to fight insurgency in the area. Baloch tribes on both sides smugling and fighting .....

We have no problem working with Pakistan to fight terrorism. If you attacked terrorists coming into Iran from Pakistan, Iranians would have zero problem with that. we're all fighting the same enemy here.

I don't have to. However, I can say that the Iranian government have asked for joint effort i.e Iran&Pakistan to deal with the terrorists many times. Iran-Pakistan are brotherly nations. Few problems and misunderstanding here and there should not change that.

if it is true, they 100% must have mistook them for terrorists. I.e it was a pure misunderstanding which led to tragic loss of life wrongly.

Sir, i said the same as you. Iranian armed forces didnt target Pak army, but insurgency in border area between Pakistan & Iran.
