Pro Zia speech by Nawaz Sharif

. . .
I don't think Zia was left with much options in Afghan war just like Musharraf after 9/11. Also Pakistan wanted world to look other way when developing nukes. In case of Musharraf he removed all of economic sanctions in return to support USA which resulted in economic boom.

Btw did you check the language baboon the first is using?
@django @The Sandman
He is issuing certificates of patriotism the same thing he criticizes others for :D
What a hypocrite
I call zia Allah ka azab on Pakistan we must've done something really really wrong in 70's that we got him to rule Pakistan for 10 years.... worst years in the history of Pakistan... i think even worse than zardaris gov....

Zia sowed many seeds which Nawaz $harif watered and ensured roots of Zia's philosophy of divide and rule prevailed in Pakistan.

Just to name a few of Zia's mission furthered by Nawaz $harif, our country is are now divided on following fault lines;

1. Caste
2. Creed
3. Fiqh
4. Sect
5. Religion
6. Ethnicity

With time, lashing instances, torturing and persecution of political opposition has taken democratic form of political victimization.

We have put into reverse gear on so many fronts and once a dynamic, vibrant and plural country. We lost a culture that embraced rather than discriminated.

Justice was toyed with to the point that it has become an alien concept for have nots - they now believe that they are Kammi Kameen and rulers are Mughal Emperors.

I will end the post with an excerpt from Mohammad Hanif's book A Case of Exploding Mangoes - produced verbatim:

Two things that weren’t even on the agenda survived every upheaval that followed. General Akhtar remained a general until the time he died, and all God’s names were slowly deleted from the national memory as if a wind had swept the land and blown them away. Innocuous, intimate names: Persian Khuda which had always been handy for ghazal poets as it rhymed with most of the operative verbs; Rab, which poor people invoked in their hour of distress; Maula, which Sufis shouted in their hashish sessions. Allah had given Himself ninety-nine names. His people had improvised many more. But all these names slowly started to disappear: from official stationery, from Friday sermons, from newspaper editorials, from mothers’ prayers, from greeting cards, from official memos, from the lips of television quiz-show hosts, from children’s storybooks, from lovers’ songs, from court orders, from telephone operators’ greetings, from habeas corpus applications, from inter-school debating competitions, from road inauguration speeches, from memorial services, from cricket players’ curses; even from beggars’ begging pleas.

In the name of God, God was exiled from the land and replaced by the one and only Allah who, General Zia convinced himself, spoke only through him.

Oh Zia was a great man, we needed a ruler, a leader at that time, our country was at war!!! . zaroori tha zia hamaray mulk kai liay. woh na hota toh tumharay jaisay phir rahay hotay.

Pakistan won the 1992 world cup because of Zia.

I had already retired following the 1987 World Cup but a year later General Zia requested my return to the sport on national television. At a dinner organized for the team he took me into another room and warned me about what he was going to do. “Don’t humiliate me by saying no”, he said. “I am going to ask you to come back for the sake of your country”. Touched by the appeal to my sense of patriotism, I of course had to say yes.

Zia was the worst thing that ever happened to Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif is the second worst.

I call Bhuttos the azab on Pakistan.

Let me go through you what went wrong wrong in the 60s and 70s.

1.In 1965 he embroiled us in the 1965 war for the objectives which he ultimately got after 1971, a divided Pakistan with one part he could indiscriminately rule.yes he had military comrades with him but he was the brainchild. as Ayub admits this in his book.

2. Destruction of our economy in 70s at the hand of his insane privatization policies.

3. Bhuto's time was when we entered aghanisttan in early 70s and started training the people there yet unfortunately Zia gets the blame.By Zias time things were pretty much out of hand and there was no turning back other than stopping USSR and i feel we did the right thing.

4. He created a secret police called FSF that kidnapped thousands of political prisoners, disobeying bureaucrats and even army soldiers. Many of whom were torture to death on direct orders from ZAB himself. Kasuri was one of them whose case lead to his hanging.

5. He was the first one to bring nepotism to Pakistani politics. when he appointed his wife as the party's head while he was in jail.

6.He was the one who created the political section iin ISI..aslo we learn how he was prevailing over helm of affairs in regards to ISI.

7.Contrary to the popular narrative he wasnt the one who initiated on pakistans nuc weapon plan. It was Ayub Khan not him. He was only a FM under his authority when he made the popular statement "
If India builds the b0mb, we will eat grass or leaves, even go hungry, but we will get one of our own. We have no other choice.
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto - 1965
Pakistan said that after some sovereign guarantees from PRC.

Why so much hate?

Why the urge to curse our history? The society will not be allowed to be polarised between Bhuttoist or Ziaist. Both were Pakistanis and both served the nation.

Why must we keep scratching our own wounds to keep them fresh?

Every nation goes through these phases and we have seen everything from Yahya to Karamat. If you wish division then in today's world you are never too short on ideas.
