In the federal budget 2021-22, the prime minister’s annual gross salary has been proposed to be allocated at a whopping Rs2.441 million for the next fiscal year.

According to the documents available with The Express Tribune, while the PM’s salary has been proposed at Rs2.441 million, the amount for PM House expenses is suggested to be Rs210.80 million.

The federal budget documents revealed that for the next financial year, Rs30 million has been proposed for salaries and perks of advisers to the premier, while Rs29 million will be set aside for special assistants.

It is pertinent to note that the gross salary of the premier is currently Rs201,574.

The budget for the President House has been proposed at Rs1.020 billion -- Rs405 million for salaries and other expenses of president’s public office employees and Rs615 million for salaries and other expenses of the president's personal office employees.

Last year, the government had decided to slash perks and privileges of the president and prime minister.
Unveiling the “people-friendly” federal budget for FY22, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin kicked off the National Assembly session by recalling the state of the economy that the ruling PTI had received when it came to power.

He said that the current account deficit was at a historic high of $20 billion but the government through its prudent policies managed to drag the economy out of trouble.

He said that the budget deficit was at a high of 6.6% and the foreign exchange reserves were at a critical level of $10 billion at the end of the PML-N’s tenure. However, the situation has now improved.

He said that the responsibility to fix the economy fell to the PTI as the previous government had hampered the economy by taking loans and artificially fixing the dollar at Rs104 for five years.

Heck, there are 3rd class tik tokkers earning more than that. I was under the impression that his monthly pay was around 0.5 million PKR.

. . .
The figure of 2.4 million PKR is far too low. Is he now the world's lowest-paid Prime Minister?

We should honour the PM's rank and pay him a fair wage, exactly like other positions. A general in the army makes a lot more money than that, and a Supreme Court judge makes a lot more money. So why not the Prime Minister?

2.4m per annum is a whopping sum for Patwaris!

.
Why can't the PM salary be minimum wage?

Mr. Khan is on the record of saying the poor have no place in politics in Pakistan.

He can legislate likewise to ensure some austerity.
The fact you have to ask that shows your deep ignorance.

I'd rather not engage with you, considering how much of a massive troll you are.
You forgot to switch your account bro
Lmao. What do you think his other account is?

You are free to choose liberally whether to engage or not but given the perks, PM can work on minimum pay

. . .
How about just throwing 3 keywords which show the gravity of the situation?
How about learning basic common sense, and learning what consequences are? Consider how much you troll, why should anyone engage with you in a serious manner?

To make their opinions heard or out there by engaging an inconsequential entity.

Basic common sense is advocating for minimum wage for PM so he can understand the ground realities of most helpless strata of society.

PM is not a career job. Monetary incentives for such posts need be eradicated to lower the wage bill.

That literally doesn't make any sense, because a rich man would not feel the affects of a minimum wage, unless he first gives up him entire wealth. This also discourages people who're not well off from seeking higher office in the future, and also encourages corruption.

Getting rid of the monetary incentive like a proper wage will only guarantee that people like Zardari and Nawas Sharif will hold public office, in other words rich corrupt a-holes who don't care about the wage in the first place.

This is why no one takes you seriously, because you say ridiculous things like this, that make no logical sense and don't stand up to scrutiny.

This is my last reply, I think I entertained you long enough.

I did mention that PM is not a career job. Nor did i advocate for the poor to be disqualified to run for office.

The perks offered while in office and after is incentive enough to run for the office.

Thank you for your time. Appreciate it.
