ISLAMABAD- Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wants to tackle the challenge arising from PTI's Azadi March in Islamabad on August 14 politically.
Sources said the government ministers will try to convince the PTI leadership to confine their march to F-9 Park, Jinnah Sports Complex or somewhere near Faizabad in the federal capital. Moreover, the Prime Minister has been given a report by the intelligence agencies that the long march of Imran Khan's PTI may create some law and order situation in the wake of the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
The sources also added that the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and other important PML-N leaders advised the PM not to keep Imran Khan under house arrest.
Till the last minute, every effort would be made to convince the PTI Chief to shift his march to a place where the government could easily provide security. Chaudhry Nisar also pointed out that the PML-N ministers should be barred from giving harsh statements against the PTI, in order to maintain a calm atmosphere.
Meanwhile, a third party is holding secret talks with the PTI on behalf of the government. A senior PPP leader is playing this role and a deal is expected to be finalized very soon.
