Jerusalem episode is the only matter in which much of the world has come together to oppose US move. Still it is nothing more than mere lip-service. Try stopping US from moving its embassy to Jerusalem and pushing Israel out of Jerusalem. Otherwise, useless.

US is doing well on economic front and also in its operations. US just defeated ISIS in the Middle East and is now shifting its focus back to Afghanistan. Members here can rant and boast but Pakistan has to worry.

although salala was not responded to militarily (and rightly so at that point of time, bear with me on this) Americans did pay a heavy price for that incidence..

US had more than 100,000 troops in Afghanistan at that point... closure of land route made it too expensive to maintain them.. billions were spent per month on air-shipments (to my disappointment, air route was allowed)... this continued for 12 months at estimated cost to US around 100 billion USD.... that resulted in them apologizing to get the land route open again and than promptly withdrew most of their troops from Afghanistan leaving behind a contingent of 11000 soldier, heavily relying on drug running and drug addict corrupt to soul afghan national army to run the show... which since than has lost around half of Afghanistan to Taliban.... they have lost 9 districts in past 6 months....

so one can say salala lead directly to tipping afghan situation to point of no return and another one will definitely tip it over....

one reason for not replying to salala at that point was that we did not control the tribal lands next to Afghanistan.... I mean physically NWA and SWA were in TTP hands for all practical purposes.. the other is you don't rush into military response against most powerful nation on earth on THEIR invitation. On time place and means of their choosing..if any thing you should be choosing the timing and theatre of war like any sensible general for past 1000s of years.... I think both of these reasons are genuine and make a lot of sense... both issues don't exist any more ... well atleast we control border areas completely and utterly....

Everything else you said could be true, but US did not defeat ISIS in Middle East, it only served its purpose hence moved/transported to Afghanistan. Russia hit hard ISIS in ME, US even tried to protect them from Russian bombing. Shifting focus to Afghanistan came with shifting ISIS also. Yes, Pakistan needs to worry because US is going to use ISIS against Pakistan to create same situation like Syria, Iraq...
