Prominent PPP leader from Bahawalpur, Munawar Hayat Abbasi, joined Pakistan Tehrik Insaf (PTI) along with his supporters on Monday.

Munawar Hayat Abbasi who was former ticket holder of PPP from NA-185, Bahawalpur, announced his decision to join PTI during a meeting with PTI Punjab president Ijaz Chaudhary at the party office. Ijaz welcomed the entrants in the party and said that the new joining would further strengthen the party in Bahawalpur. He maintained that leaders belonging to PML-N and PPP were joining the PTI due to failure of their parties to fulfill the promises made with the masses. The PTI leader claimed that PML-N and PPP had joined hands to cover each other’s corruption and support each other’s rule. Commenting over the appointment of the NAB chairman, he claimed that PML-N and PPP made the appointment under a secret deal.

PTI, MQM contacted on NAB chief issue: Khursheed

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Tuesday said that he had contacted Shah Mehmood Qureshi of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) many times on the issue of appointment of the NAB chairmanbut he did not reply.

He said he had also talked to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)'s Dr Farooq Sattar.

Talking to this correspondent, Khursheed Shah said that corruption was a chronic problem and Chaudhry Qamar Zaman will play his part in its elimination. He said he had held five meetings with the prime minister on the matter and placed some names also before Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

He said he knew it personally that Chaudhry Qamar Zaman was an honest and well-reputed officer.
