Japan has 15-16% population under their own national poverty line.
Vietnam 14.5% population under their own national poverty line.

Vietnamese is richer than Japanese ? NO NO NO

We are not fools to be lied by our own govt.

Japan use higher standard to measure the poorness, our govt lied us to use 1.25 USD / person / day to measure the poorness.

Lot of poverty threads pooping out these days

According to Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the mean household net-adjusted disposable income for Japan is $23,458. This income is in fact higher than OECD member state average of $22,387. The method used for estimation of poverty in Japan is same as that used in the U.K.

16% of Japanese has income under 23,458 USD / year / household, means 16 USD / person / day. ( 5,864 USD / person / year )

They call those 16% as people in poverty.

Vietnam govt use 1.25 USD / person / day standard as poverty line.
And got better looking ratio of 14.5% population in poverty.

If you pay less attention to the details, you may misunderstand that there's less poor people in Vietnam comparing to Japan.

But it's wrong. And that's the dirty trick, our govt playing.

this is totally right. Poor ppl in country A is different from poor ppl in country B.
the poor ppl in China are middle class in India

2$/person/day isn't considered as middle class anywhere on earth.

Most Japanese who make less than $30,000 a year are already in the lower threshold of average income bracket. Remember that average Japanese income is around $38,000 a year (range is more around $35,000 - $45,000). But it should also be noted that Japanese usually work a 2nd job under table. That's unreported because that's paid in cash. Nowadays its common for Japanese to work 2 jobs now just to get by with cost of living.

Cost of living is quite expensive in Japan. Imagine, to rent a 2 bedroom apartment (1200 square feet), will cost around $1100 to $1300 a month. Electricity will cost around $100-$150, water cost will be around $100, cable internet will be $50-60. Then you have to consider cost for food , $400-$500.

Monthly expense is around $1900 - $2000 a month!

as I told you, very few ppl get only $2/day. that is ridiculous statistics
can you tell me the methodology to get these statistics?

recently, the japanese Yen exchange rate has shrinked a lot
maybe the amount in dollars is not that much?

As Chinese, to your estimation, how many people under that lines ? or ratio ?
China govt consider person has income under 1.03 USD / person/day as poor people, @cnleio show us the table of 10.7% of population under that line.
So the ratio of people had income under 2$ / day should be higher than under 1.03$ / day

I can't find anywhere on earth consider 1.03 or 2 USD / person / day as middle-class.

Not by that much. Current exchange rate is $1 USD = ¥ 118; before it was $1 USD = ¥ 120 .

Always lack official datas support, numbers from @BoQ77 himself in PDF... LOL !

Ur links !!! Give me some suprise.
Japan has 15-16% population under their own national poverty line.
Vietnam 14.5% population under their own national poverty line.

This is why more and more Japanese prefer to retire in China, Malaysia, Philippines !

Retirees can live like kings and queens there !

As Chinese, to your estimation, how many people under that lines ? or ratio ?

it mostly depends how many disabled, old ppl or orphans are there in China
but
1) disabled ppl or old ppl may still have jobs or pensions
2) if they don't have jobs or enough pensions, they have government allowances, rural poor ppl get $30/month while city ppl get $60/month, and this allowance continues to grow

so the ppl under that lines are :
1) a few disabled/old/orphan ppl who have no jobs and don't know government policies (e.g, they have no relatives/friends who told them and a few local governments havn't done a responsible job to include them in)
2) some isolated areas where the ppl are lazy, religious and are not willing to work in the cities and enjoying the primary-style life

I don't how many of them, but it is never as many as 80 million

your argument has very little of weight, indeed. Where do you live now? What do you work as?
without statistics, I myself can't point out among 90 million of Vietnamese, how many in poverty.
It's harder to have the same statistics among 1.4 billion of Chinese. So I asked "What do you work as @esolve ?
