(possibly Syrian air force) MiG-29 fighter jet destroys TB2 drones west of Sirte using R-77 BVR

Only when the air defense is an incapable Russian or Russian based one.

It depends on the drone's size and altitude.
Israel is about to stop using the Patriot altogether.
drones are slow and you have all the time in the world to scramble a fighter and destroy it for far cheaper., well if you don't use ridiculously expensive equipment like Aim-120c or AIM-9x or in this case R-77
in 2012 Malaysia bought 35 Vympel R-77 RVV-AE for 35 Million Dollar , India in June 2019 ordered 300 R-73 missile and 400 R-77 Missile fr 700 Million Dollar

So Syrian Af that cannot defend its own airspace against Turkish and Israeli AF has somehow deployed to Libya?
And they have sneaker wearing pilots...

Well Syria didn't have Mig-29's.....until now

Expect Syria to retaliate against Turkey more vigorously now that they have Mig-29's.

Turkish drones will be destroyed by Mig-29 in Syria, Libya or anywhere else.

Armed drones need to be intercepted fast, not necessarily cheaply, as they pose threat to units that are much more important and expensive.

Iron Dome can do it for quite cheap.
Laser systems like the Iron Beam can do it for practically free.

Not confirmed by any serious source excluding trolls and their twitter accounts. There wasn’t even a lost drone yesterday.

LNA shot down a Turkish drone yesterday, this is not disputed information.

Stop being in denial mode

LiveUA said the following:

LNA air defense system target a Turkish drone and shot down it in the Wadi Jarf area after it tried to target locations of LNA units

Syrian MiG-29 over Libya? What movie do you live in?

Looks like somebody's been asleep for past 24 hrs

By your logic armed Cessna needs to be intercepted fast which is not true.

R-77 is very expensive, but the Russians don't care. For the Russians, protecting the face is the most important thing

R-77 is cheap for Russia, they overcharge anyone else who buys it from them.

I cannot f*****g believe that India bought 700 missiles for 700 million dollars. Whoever made that decision in India should be fired. They got ripped off so bad and they have no idea.

you see I don't believe it needs to be intercepted fast , you have radars that see it fromfar away , you can plan before hand what to do with it and don't forget they usually fly at lower than 200km /h it means you probably have 1-2 hours to decide what to do with it before it come near something worth bombing.unless your adversary don't care if he bombs a power-planet or Bedouin tent

Turkish F16s will be involved than

. . .

that's for one or two operation , but if you want to do it on daily bases , I think egypt does have systems that made it very dangerous if it come to direct confrontation between the two country. (They have R-77, R-27 and if I'm not wron Meteor)
