Obviously the op sensibly took out the equation of foreign alliances. if turkey does being in nato (firm believer turkey Islamist agenda will force nato to abandon them down the line), Russia will have to bring in the Chinese, North Koreans and central Asians.

Russia can crush down the whole nato alone, they don't need extra assistance. If Russia has war with America in Asia-Pacific, they may have to bring in the Chinese, North Koreans and central Asians. greenwood'

It'll lead a Muslim-christian conflict at a much larger scale... Turkish rebels who were ill-equipped and barely supplied managed to defeat the numerically superior forces of Italy, France, Britain, Greece, Armenians and to a small scale America and Russia during the war for independence. What do you think they will be capable of now that they have a well-trained army backed by an advanced array of arms.

Pakistan will most likely get involved - during the Azerbaijan and Armenian war; Pakistan funneled hundreds of Mujaheddin to fight against the Armenians and to this day Pakistan does not recognize Armenia same with the conflict in Bosnia, Albania and Kosovo.

It comes down to Russia builds 10,000 Su-35S fighter jets and then can Turkey's 100 or so F-16 fighter jets fight that? If they can, then Turkey might have a chance against Russia.

If a war breaks out, Turkey will immediately secure the Black sea with its massive naval force which Russia doesn't even have a chance at scratching them. Naval bombardment via the Black sea could be devastating to Russia.

Due to Turkeys more strategic geographical position and more concentrated military assets and Air bases - Turkey could easily gain Air Superiority over the Black Sea. Although Russia's AF outnumber Turkish AF 3:1 - they can not use their numerical power to an advantage as Russia's size thins out their AF numbers.

It all comes down to land - the only area that Russia can launch a full ground offensive is through Armenia but then again due to Turkish geographical advantage and more location-wise concentrated military they can thwart a Russian Invasion.
