Policeman martyred, dozens injured in Islamabad clashes; Army called

And here is another effup in the making:

My diagnosis remains correct and based upon clear evidence. Illegal meddling always creates more problems than it solves for Pakistan.

Army being an active negotiating partner and the officially signing on paper is an effup, but was this better than the effup of bloodshed under Army's hands? But you seem to be ignoring all the effups done by PMLN and NS that eventually led to this final effup; All the effups in chronological order:
(#1) PMLN uses its house majority without any consensus with opposition to hastily pass a person specific amendment in law to enable convicted criminals to head political parties in Pakistan (political party heads control your membership in assembly, so essentially a criminal can control a legislation assembly, whose purpose is to refine laws to catch criminals ... any irony or contradiction you see here sir?)
(#2) Lets ignore point 1 and go with the majoritarianism that PMLN can do as it wishes as it has the numbers; fine! The law amendment under discussion is related to party leadership and to allow a convicted person to be eligible to head a political party if thats what the people wish, but the draft that gets eventually bulldozed by PMLN in assembly includes other changes in law which were never under discussion or any lawmaker seem to be aware. Lets even leave the specific change related to the Prophet SAWs finality clause. Even if the law change was related to a non sensitive topic, the manner it was added cunningly into the draft without public knowledge or discussion in parliament is dishonesty and fraud with the public. (#3) The most important one: why did you take the 'punga!!'? Dont we know the nature and history of subcontinent Muslims regarding Prophet SAW and his finality as a prophet, and how any discussion and changes in law (if really needed) need to be discussed and promoted in a very sensitive and careful manner? If PMLN wants to promote a secular form of govt then the public should know their position, and it should be part of their election manifesto and mandate. These are major ideological foundations of the constitution, state and society and cannot be single highhandedly blown away by PMLN unannounced and undeclared - by masking them with other changes in law (#4) Now lets say the mistake was made - actually it isn't a mistake as an example of mistake would be a misspell, a grammar error etc. - this was a deliberate attempt, a wrong decision and miscalculation driven by dishonest intentions to please some foreign powers to gain their support against the legal battles of NS and co. After the wrong decision that got back fired, the handling of the situation was entirely insensitive and was akin to urdu muhawra 'aa bail mujhay mar'. First there were arrogant denials and dismissive attitude by ministers that there is no change, its pretty much the same, no big deal etc. And when the bad decision and miscalculation was caught with their pants down, Shabaz Sharif and NS quickly threw there ministers under the bus by saying we don't agree with this and the ones responsible should be exposed and fired from the party/job. The irony is that the demand of the protesters, i.e. resignation of the responsibles, is something that was first stated by PMLN top leadership; their main slogan of resignation was given legitimacy by PMLN leadership it self initially (#5) Up until here, all the effups are by PMLN and army is no where involved or seen. The fifth effup is again by the civil admin especially the 1 man army Shahbaz Sharif by not taking appropriate action on time and letting the protestors pass uninterrupted to Islamabad (#6) Again on the civil govt by letting them accumulate in Islamabad and not dispersing the crowd by taking police action on time - there are less chances of bloodshed if you disperse a small crowd in the beginning. That opportunity was again missed (#7) If action is to be taken, why were they trying to find a shoulder from courts to take action? And even when court proved them the shoulder, they screwed up again and didn't own up or follow through properly (#8) The Army was finally invited by the govt itself as they had effed up big time till now - as explained in 1 to 7. Even at this stage the police was still the most capable to handle the (unarmed) protesters if used properly with appropriate legal and political backing. Inviting the Army to the negotiations and asking them to do military action is the final effup of the govt. (#9) The negotiations performed with Army included as a party is the final effup in which both civil and military are responsible. Even if the civil govt was asking for it, the army should have refused as this is not their domain and is unconstitutional. At the most they only should have facilitated the govt and protesters in coming to a non violent agreement.

For some reason you fail to even give a hint on the effups done by NS and co from #1 to #8 above, and indulge relentlessly in a biased catharsis about a single point - the negotiation phase in #9 which eventually resolved the situation without bloodshed in the end.

So calling NS an incompetent monster of failed governance was not enough? :D

Please do go through my posts again and see where I have openly called out the failures of this government equally harshly. As I have said, there is plenty of culpability to go around - twice. And then some.

Army being an active negotiating partner and the officially signing on paper is an effup, but was this better than the effup of bloodshed under Army's hands?

In no case should there be bloodshed of civilians by the Army, or by LEAs generally, if it can be avoided. But to sign off as a broker as a needlessly political and illegal step? In the short run, it may appear to be prudent, but in the long run, it will create more problems than it has solved, like most meddling.

==========================

Anyways, the dharna is over and traffic is flowing. I really should sign off from this thread before things get heated needlessly. :D

Asma Jehangir & Marvi Sirmed types have selective optical illusions in addition to selective amnesia.

If Army mediates (without request) and gets Judiciary restored then this type of breed is summun bukmun umyun!

If it mediates upon request but an imbecile’s stature is further fractured then it’s haram!

In short, from this class’ point of view, Army’s mediation is halal only if the beneficiary is cross bred breed of Zia & Jilani (1980’s) vaccinated by Durrani and Beg (1990’s) and christened by Kayani (2010’s) then as per fatwa of mombati mafia it’s Halal, however, if there could be any other beneficiary then it’s totally Haraam!

I intentionally missed the last hurrah he has had in Dawn Leaks for now!

RAWALPINDI: The two police officials, who were allegedly kidnapped by unidentified activists of religious parties, from the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital on Sunday were found lying alongside a road in Sohan with marks of torture, fractured bones and bruises on Monday, after the sit-in was called off.

Soon after they were found by a police patrol team, the police officials were taken to the DHQ hospital, from where they were kidnapped, for a medical check-up and were later admitted to the hospital.

According to a doctor, the policemen had sustained internal injuries. Sub-inspector Aslam Hayat’s left elbow was fractured and both the men were beaten with plastic coated wire, sticks and batons and had bruises on their bodies.

After the completion of medico-legal reports, which will indicate the intensity of torture and injuries, further sections of the law will be added in the FIR already registered with the Ganjmandi police on Sunday.

The policemen were at DHQ hospital for postmortems of those killed during Saturday’s clashes when they were abducted

“Both SI Aslam Hayat and Amanat Ali were ruthlessly tortured by the kidnappers and were detained in a makeshift tent in Faizabad after they were kidnapped,” the deputy superintendent of police (city circle) said.

He said the police will record the statements of both men now that they are in better health.

The policemen were accompanying the bodies of people killed during Saturday’s operation to the DHQ hospital so their postmortems can be conducted when they were kidnapped by the protesters. A group of religious protesters had entered the mortuary of the hospital and argued with the SI as he was refusing to write what the protesters wanted him to write. They started beating one of the policemen, dragged him out, beat him again, put him in a car and drove off.

They came back for the other police official, beat him and took him from the mortuary as well. A police constable accompanying the two officials managed to escape.

The inspector general of police, Punjab, took notice of the kidnapping of SI Aslam Hayat, who is associated with the Homicide Investigation Unit and Amanat Ali, who was assisting him.

Meanwhile, the Sadiqabad police have registered a case against unidentified persons with regards to Saturday’s violence in which seven people were killed and several injured.

The FIR was registered on the complaint of Station House Officer Inspector Zulfiqar Ali under sections for murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, violence and eight other sections of the law though terrorism charges were not mentioned.

According to the FIR, the protesters got violent and set fire to the shops, police and private vehicles and also opened fire which resulted in several deaths and left many injured. In return, the police fired tear gas shells to disperse the violent protesters.

It says more than 15 police officials were injured during the violence and Constable Waqas Ahmed was kidnapped by the protesters.

The FIR says some people were killed due to gunshots fired by miscreants who were attacking the police. However, neither the main leaders of the religious groups nor the activists were nominated in the case by the police.

Paan di sirri.

I'm against use of violence and what these miscreants did only weakened the cause they were trying to stand for.

This was second dharna on same issue by Molvis. First dharna just finished few days before this one. Astonishing for those who didn't catch the first dharna is that the first one was by another faction of same group and they were sitting on Jinnah Avenue itself...They were negotiated out of it but the Government just dis nothing on the demands and sat waiting for the next, lol.

You should watch Zaeem Qadri talk in today's capital talk with Hamid Mir and know why Movi Khadim Hussain managed to get permission from Punjab government to go from Lahore to Islamabad for this last dharna, lol.

Watch Zaeem qadri admitting his strong relationship with Molvi Khadim Hussain and co. in today's capital talk with Hamid Mir and decide how pmln manages to play on both sides of the fence ( @Realistic Change politics of contradictions) and make a fool out of a large, and even educated section of its voters most of the times but hopefully not always and hopefully not this time around for sure.

This time younger and elder Sharif crossed every limit of playing Good and Bad Cop - both were present in every damn meeting at 1700 acres Jati Umra Palace built through Tax Payers money.

Younger Sharif’s stance: Dharna is fundamental right and for just cause, and I and Punjab Govt completely supports it.

Elder Sharif’s stance: Dharna is an excuse of/by Army to demean my party’s Govt and I and Federal Govt completely opposes it.

Disciples of both Sharifs; Claps in unison and chants Dekho Dekho Sher Aaya rhythmically.......then slows down ......and starts chanting Haq Haq (who knows ....remembering perhaps the guy from where these eg*s were fertilized aka Nawaz & Shahbaz).

And as you can see several posters here want to believe both stories as true depending on which constituency they want to appease at that very moment.

Afreen hai unh pey who have guts to defend these dimwits; openly or tacitly!

The people who are complaining are not capable to see beyond this event, The fact is that mullah brigade is capable of bringing couple of thousands of their compatriots and block the road, if state bows to them onetime then it will be free fall into mullahcracy.

  1. A board of clerics led by Pir Muhammad Afzal Qadri will be set up to probe remarks made by Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah against the persecution of Ahmedis. Sanaullah will have to accept the decision made by the board.

  3. No leniency will be given to those convicted by courts for blasphemy.

  4. No ban will be imposed on the use of loudspeakers.

  5. The foreign and interior ministries will take steps for the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui after taking her mother and sister in confidence.

  6. The holiday of Iqbal Day on November 9 will be revived.

  7. Two representatives of Tehreek-i-Labaik will be included in the panel assigned to decide changes in the textbook board. The officials will push for inclusion of translation of the Holy Quran and chapters about Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) and Muslim leaders.

  8. The chehlum of martyrs will be held on January 4 at Rawalpindi's Liaquat Bagh.

  9. Every year, November 25 will be observed as "Martyrs of Prophet's honour day".

Frankly I'm disgusted the army didn't shoot all the protestors dead. Afterall these people were violating traffic laws. What is the point of all these babur cruise missiles if we're not going to use them on our own people. Saddam did it, Bashar did it, Amreeka does it to anyone they want and look how great thier GDP is.
