So what? Don't people die in prison and jails while in police custody? Making NAB controversial will get you nowhere.

"What sort of accountability is this, the scope of which does not extend beyond students and politicians?" the chairman said in criticism of the bureau

That is crux of the problem.

Some of the comments here against IK are uncalled for. Unfortunately these are from people who I would call "Blatant Hypocrites".... people who are so deep up their "backsides" that they can't even see what is going on around them.

.
We as a nation are going through an unprecedented dark period right now. May Allah shower it's blessings on us very soon!

. . . .
Can we stop these gimmicks,i mean this is enough.

I don't think PM house was built for that.Every structure is purpose built, and that wasn't built as such.

Tomorrow a new Govt would come and new cycle of corruption would start, either by taking it back, renovating it and allocating uni some new place or building a new one.In all it would open new doors for corruption.

This is more symbolic than substantial. Prime-minister and President were considered owners of the state where ordinary people were worthless servants. IK is flipping the concept that People own Pakistan and everything it has is for their benefit. Also imagine for a future PM, all luxuries have been eliminated. Thus people who used to chase power imagining a King's life will have to re-imagine reason of becoming a premier. Like in UK, their PM lives in a small house, travels in public transport and demonstrates that he is equal among the countrymen, but more responsible and more answerable. The same is happening for Pakistan now.

On the surface this means a little as a foundation of a better Pakistan, this means a lot.

With due respect we are not in need of symbolic gestures, rather then we are in dire need of purging every department and political party+simplification of laws and strict action against those breaking it.
What would stop anyone from building another one?

.
When will he take real actions.
Shutting Down Steel Mill.
Downsizing PIA and other crowded govt. system. from multiple desk to 1 or 2 person on Comp from multiple window to 1 window operation.
Go after corrupt govt. employee. you will get huge list simply by looking at asset beyond mean.
Zero subsidy on metro & others & charge them extra so we can at least cover some of our cost.
Reduce Elected member salaries and benefit to min half or ideally 1/4.

.
It's getting to be childish. First ministers travelling economy class, now this.

Pointless gestures.
Well political differences aside but how come cutting the expenditure of tax payers by traveling in economy class pointless or childish?
Same for the university idea. Instead of spending BILLIONS as PM house running expense, if we can cut it down, i do not see a down side to it. Please enlighten me.
