  • Gill says Bilawal wants US to help him form a government.
  • "Bilawal is headed for the US in a bid to get a job," says aide.
  • "PPP puts its own interests above national interests," Gill adds.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill on Saturday claimed PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is looking to strike a deal with the United States.
Gill, addressing a press conference in Karachi, claimed Bilawal is "going to take his CV (curriculum vitae) to Washington in a bid to get a job".
"After reaching America, Bilawal will urge [the US government] to help him come into power, saying he is ready to do whatever they ask of him."
Gill said that the PTI-led government "will never allow Bilawal to succeed" in his plans. "We will not let such a deal be struck," the premier's aide said.
He said claimed that during former president (retired) Gen Pervez Musharraf's tenure, 13 drone attacks were carried out in Pakistan, while during PPP's regime, the country witnessed a whopping 340 attacks.
The premier's aide further alleged that former United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice helped Musharraf and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto strike a deal to allow drone attacks on Pakistan.
"These people (PPP) shift the blame on Musharraf for Pakistan having provided military bases to America.
"[Whereas] it is you (PPP) who put your interests above national interests," Gill said.
Gill's statement comes two days after Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa had said Pakistan would not give airbases to the US if the government has decided against it.
The army chief was responding to questions posed by journalists after he had attended a military and intelligence briefing to parliamentarians on national security and the Afghanistan situation.
"You should have put this question to the government. Why have you asked this from me?" Gen Bajwa said when first questioned on the military's position on the matter.
Pakistan has publicly refused to give military bases to the US for operations inside Afghanistan after the withdrawal of foreign forces from the war-torn country.
Washington had requested Islamabad's help to keep a check on the situation in Afghanistan and stop it from falling into the hands of terrorists.
Prime Minister Imran Khan, in his address on the floor of the National Assembly three days earlier, had said Pakistan could be a partner in peace with the US but not in conflict.
He had underlined that Pakistan became a target for militants when it joined the so-called US-led war against terror and sent its army into the tribal regions.
Brefing on national security
Two days earlier, an in-camera meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security was held at the Parliament House. Following the session, the parliamentarians expressed satisfaction over the briefing provided by the country's security apparatus.
The meeting was chaired by National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and involved a briefing by Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed.
COAS Bajwa and the Director-General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar were also in attendance.
Among government representatives, Minister for Interior Shaikh Rasheed, Minister for Housing Tariq Bashir Cheema, Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and Leader of the House in the Senate Dr Shahzad Waseem attended the meeting.
Opposition leaders in attendance included the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Senator Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, JUI-F Parliamentary leader Maulana Asad Mahmood, ANP leader Ameer Haider Azam Khan Hoti, and MQM-P's Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
Prime Minister Imran Khan did not attend either of the two sessions that took place.
According to an official statement issued after the briefing, the session was informed that Pakistan played a highly positive and responsible role in the Afghan peace process.
"Pakistan's efforts paved the way for dialogue between Afghan factions and warring groups," the meeting was told, while it was also noted that due to Islamabad's efforts, meaningful talks have begun between the US and the Taliban.
"Sustained peace and stability in Afghanistan will lead to stability in South Asia," the meeting was informed.

The three As that unfortunately influence our politics, Allah(Religion), Army and America. Baby Bhutto is naive and outspoken, may harm Pakistan further at this stage.

Lol Gill is hilarious. ( one of the many incompetent and loud mouth members of PTI)

On a serious note, what is Bilawal going to the US for?

To me, after the American escape from Afghanistan, I don't think the US is really interested in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Central Asia. They just want to get out and not have to ever be bothered with this region again.

I mean, they've spent something like $2 trillion on an unwinable war and achieved nothing. They've not even managed to halt or disarm Pakistani nuclear weapons program.

Us Pakistani's have short term memories. Remember memo gate scandal of PPP for which Hussain Haqqani is still an absconder. PPP trying again, they failed last time and making another try. Bilawal is playing with fire and if he is indeed trying this again and there is any evidence that comes out public the fallout for PPP could be huge.

Central actors in the plot include Pakistani-American businessman Mansoor Ijaz, who alleged that long-time friend and former Pakistan Ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani asked him to deliver a confidential memo[5] asking for US assistance. The memo is alleged to have been drafted by Haqqani at the behest of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.[6] The memo was delivered to Mike Mullen through then National Security Advisor James L. Jones.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has opened a broader inquiry into the origins, credibility and purpose of the memo.[2][7] On 19 April 2012 a petition was submitted in the Supreme Court to arrest former Pakistan ambassador to US Husain Haqqani through Interpol for his refusal to return to Pakistan. On 12 June the supreme court commission released its findings and found that after testimony by all parties and verifying the forensic results of Ijaz's BlackBerry conversations with Haqqani it was "incontrovertibly established" that Husain Haqqani had written the memo and was being called back to Pakistan to face likely charges of treason.

The memo presented concerns that Pakistani military outfits might attempt to overthrow the civilian government in the wake of the Bin Laden raid. To counteract these concerns the memo asks for US military and political help in wresting control of the government away from the military in what amounted to a counter-coup. It then goes on to make other offers favourable to the United States including: setting up tribunals with investigators picked by Washington to put the leaders of the military on trial, the creation of a new security apparatus consisting of the authors of the memo and others favourable to Washington, and "carte blanche" for the US military in conducting strikes within Pakistan.[10][11]

PPP is going to suckup good to biden and America. What else he can do to come in power? Punjab, KP have shown him middle finger, establishment not willing to corporate and provide a deal, Khan govt f*cking ppp, pmln all around providing no deal. Only option for a deal and possible govt is US support on the other hand again visas for US contractors, bases for CT ops will be given once in power. PPP and people in Establishment and military who are pto US then pro Pak will **** us around for their own benifits, we'll get out of FATF, probably get some concessions from IMF WB etc but terrorism will increase and the biggest losers will be civilians.

Bilawal Bhutto leaves for a week-long visit to US

Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday left for United States of America (USA) for a weeklong visit.

According to details, Chairman PPP will hold key meeting in New York and Washington while Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah is already in the US.

Aseefa Bhutto will likely lead campaign for Azad Kashmir election, which will be held on July 25, in absence of her brother Bilawal.

Earlier, Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, while reacting to news of Bilawal abroad travel, said that PPP chairman can visit United States as many times as he wants but Prime Minister Imran Khan will complete his 5 year term no matter what.

Okay , so when that hijra comes back, call him out on this subject, and ask him about his urgent trip. In 21st century the colonial submissive attitude of three As won't cut it anymore. People should stand up to put an end to foreign Interference in Pakistani domestic affairs, eapecially any leader or party seeking foreign help in getting to power. We breed and reward treason in pakistan. Besides in order for him to become PM, may Allah never bring that dreaded day, establishment will have to sell out the motherland again for small gains, but with deadly consequences for the interest and well being of the nation
