From first day dawn leaks notification was released i knew pmln want army to take over or kick them out. After after hearing Ch Nisar and other nooni leaders comments i have no doubt what they are trying to achieve. Than there was border killing drama its all dirty politics to save Sharifs.

NS and Zardari know that the day IK will come in power they will be history. And its not only NS and Zardari but many powerful ppl who help ppl like NS and Zardari to stay in power.

In all likelihood, that includes significant portion, if not all, of our military establishment as well :)

Nahi Bhai PMLN don't wants army to take over when there is on going investigation on Panama leaks. It is just that PMLN cannot afford all the asked people in Dawn Leaks to be investigated and they will try to resist as much as they can.

Awaz is dead in both Pana Leaks and Dawn Leaks. Just execute those charges with fairness and firmness.

There is no point throwing out a government which is naturally dying within days.

It is very simple what else will Nisar say? The Army has directly issued the report against the top leadership of PMLN. PMLN is not going to act on the report and will wait until army loses patience and makes a move and then PMLN will come in with a clampdown tactic and will try to calm thing and delay more and more. Army is in no mood of martial law and PMLN will try to exploit that.

That's what they want to be; but even by any measure PMLN's performance is quite poor; I would not go into details like HDI, or other measures to see how Pakistan fared in the region; but just macro level comparison with our 26 younger country PMLN has failed to deliver on every front; including electricity:

With this kind of performance; they desperately want shahadat - they don't have any other idiotic slogans to sell - though already sold will still vote and support!

What is the source for these stats?

As much as I despise N-league, i know the growth rate is not less than 4%

Also im not sure how Bangladesh measures their economy, but the system for measuring Pakistans GDP is set to be rebased soon in order to reflect a more accurate picture. I would hold off on comparisons with other countries till that is completed.

The point is that with what Pakistan has and can do, Bangladesh or Sri Lankan performance should not be comparable by any standards - we should be far ahead.

Yes, Dr. Burki has rightly pointed out and if that is agreed by WB - it will definitely change a lot; but this comparison was till 2016 - what happens in 2020 is yet to be seen!

As by one estimate, the shortage of electricity is wiping 2 percentage points off economic growth every year - and if we go by reports in public domain the gap of shortfall has widened as compared to PPP's Govt.,

However there is hope; our respected Kh. Asif has predicted that crisis will end by April 28th, 2017 - wait......has the deadline passed?!? Again!!!!

The prime minister ordered action against officials who failed to plan in advance for the summer season a day earlier, as the electricity shortfall crossed a record 7,000MW.

Due to the shortfall, the duration of load-shedding in urban areas had increased to an average 14-16 hours. Loadshedding in rural areas was even worse, rising to 20 hours.

The prime minister had expressed “dissatisfaction over the negligence of departments concerned” over the latest power situation that has put the government in an awkward political position at one of the most challenging times and ahead of the Panama Leaks case judgement.

Presiding over a special meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy, Nawaz had directed all resources to be put to use to reduce the current shortfall and provide maximum relief to people through as much reduction in load-shedding as possible.

The bigger problem here is lazy, lethargic and good for nothing judiciary, Nawaz shud have been suspended at least as PM if not Disqualified but majority judges were too reluctant to take strict action on proven facts and ordered to form a JIT (Truck ki Batti) and as a result put entire system at stake, now PML-N is pushing PA for take over but PA wont do that PM and his bacha jamhora's will keep on trying and as a result the system the country will suffer, the only way out of this mess was through Powerful Judicial action and that never happened.

Judges are also part of the same society - not immune to deterioration of overall social fabric.

Generally considered wrong some years ago is not wrong anymore, reawakening the public from deep sleep is required to stop the slumber party of Zar & Shar
