so no announcement of new COAS until Sunday. Gen RS retires on Monday and traditionally there is a "Handing of the Baton" ceremony at GHQ which is witnessed by the general staff.

So hel is going for his leisure trip again on the tax payer's money but has he declared who is the next COAS?

No, it's because Turkmenistan is extremely important to Pakistan's future in Central Asia. Also, the next COAS will likely be announced by Sunday; it's a difficult decision, replacing the most successful COAS that Pakistan has ever seen.

Try not to be so cynical about everything that NS does as Pakistan's PM.

I don't think a delay of a few days or weeks to Turkmenistan will hurt CPEC since this is a long term project isn't it:?

But we all knew and especially your PM should have definitely known the date of retirement of the most successful COAS since a long time. Right?

And especially since Gen. RS had already declined any offers of extensions so I think this retirement and change was obvious..The offices are not run on ad hoc basis.

It has nothing to do with CPEC. Pakistan's road to Central Asia is a far older ambition than CPEC. He was invited by the President of Turkmenistan, that in itself is a big enough deal.

My PM? I live in Canada, my PM is Justin Trudeau. Again, there is still time.

And especially since Gen. RS had already decline any offers of extensions so I think this retirement and change was obvious..The offices are not run on ad hoc basis.
And decisions are not made quickly and rashly. There are still a few days left, and it doesn't even have to be him that makes the final announcement, the president can do just that.
