I don't take an unqualified view basis NGO reports alone (I know they can mislead to get funding). I've seen several BBC reports too. The following is an indie film. You may not want to be biased towards it, but the internal documentation evidence and several of their dumpings give clear indication of a rotten corporate culture:

C'mon man, these kind of reports are dime a dozen. Holding no brief for Monsanto but I'm sure that you can get the same bunch of NGO's all excited even against the Indian nuclear establishment. All large companies, especially in controversial areas of operations get this kind of reportage.

I'm also not asking you to believe it fully. But corroborating data- $700M settlements, the documentation around suppression of data and such need to be looked into. Those are not fabrications.

As long that coal is used in India, its quite fine. The foreign companies can bring better technologies and safety methods.

There's nothing wrong in letting foreign firms enter India,given that the law is structurally strong enough to stop them from any wrong doings,though its not that easy as it may sound. But just make sure India doesn't becomes another Indonesia.

Not necessary. Monsanto is in the market place. If there is a market, they will do well. If their product is useless, they won't. We need to just make sure the safeguards are in place & apply equally - to Monsanto or anyone else.

Many regions of India still need agricultural boom, why are we just relying on few states. Still today our per hectare production is quite low and need to low water dependent crops, even though having one of the highest arable land in the world. We should only focus on bad business practices done by seed producing companies. The population is already 1.2 billion from 350 millions in 1947 and also the per capita income of everyone is increasing.

Ya, all this talk about foreign companies & state after state were begging Pepsi to do cultivation of Potato in their states. Those states that Pepsi did work with got a very high increase (I think 3-fold) in production. No point tarring everyone with an NGO brush. Either the company is allowed here or it is not. If allowed, we need to treat it the same as any other.

Jesus man! I work for a very big corporation in a somewhat notable position. If I had this kind of unqualified support from a lot of folks, I would be sooooo happy

mate Monsanto is controversial in the real sense , the south America examples , the production methods ,clauses pertaining to the distribution of seeds, the cases of farmer's etc, trust me this stuff is pretty messed up

the principles of consumerism with out the ethics & limits of its benefit's , is the worst tragedy of success the world has ever seen
where entities becomes individuals , conscience of humanity becomes lost !
