Bangladeshi court sentences 2 people to death
Elderly men convicted of war crimes by controversial tribunal

DHAKA, Bangladesh

A Bangladeshi court on Wednesday sentenced two elderly men to death over alleged crimes during the country's liberation war in 1971.

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), a local court formed for cases related to the war that marked the country's independence from Pakistan, announced the verdict.

Sohrab Fakir, 88, and Hedayet Ullah, 80, were convicted of murder, mass killing, torture, abduction and arson.

Fakir was present at the hearing, while Ullah is still at large.

This is not the first time the ICT, a controversial tribunal, convicted elderly people. The tribunal is accused of being used against political opponents under the pretext of punishing the war criminals.

Following the formation of the court, international human rights group, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, voiced their deep concern over the “unfair trial” process.

. . . .
Meanwhile Chinese premier and Russian president be like:- Oh uh, Okay. Kids.

As much as I avoid posting in PDF nowadays, I will reply to this as I find it interesting.
She gonna end up balkanizing the bangali society for her lust to stay in power.
What is there to balkanize to begin with?
Imo the ethnic sylhetis must organize them and come up with a demand of promulgating slyheti lingo as one of the national languages of Bangladesh
Whats with this Sylheti lingo fantasy?

Syed Mujtaba Ali is perhaps the most known writer from Sylhet. He wrote in Bengali. Hason Raja is one of the most celebrated songwriter in Bangladesh. He was from Sylhet and died in British period. And his songs are Bengali.

And just to let you know, Sylhetis in Indian Assam(Borak Valley) protested against Assamese govt's decision to make Assamese the only state language. They gave their lives just like Bengalis in East Pakistan to make Bwngali a state language of Assam.

You guys cannot even keep your own country together and dream of breaking other countries. Stop the weekly bomb blasts and shootings of your country.

Okay? Okay.

You call this a human sacrifice to keep power in her hand something the ancient Aztec people use to do in South America.

This hanging will place fear in the heart of here enemies and they give a message to few bengalis with brains that this is what your end is if you defy India and RAW.

I will give her 3 more years before shit hits the roof.

Nothing will happen as long as the lives of average Bangladeshis keep improving. Talk sh!t about her as much as you want or make plans to topple her like that admin whorus. Or call for civil war in BD like that Imran Khan(not yory pm, he's a good guy). BD will move forward while Pakistan will move backward.

@Black_cats @Homo Sapiens @UKBengali @BDforever @bluesky

I don't want to talk shit about bengladesh. Bengladesh was once Pakistan and that moment of history has place respect in my heart for bengladesh. In 1971 the country was reoccupied by India as Modi him self admitted that India was behind muktibani movement now you tell me where am I wrong in my statement. Please leave your hate aside and be logical. Hassina still executing people for what? It is just being done to inject a new life in old muktibani propaganda. Aztec people in ancient times use to do this to please their gods for staying in power and the case is similar with hassina.

.
LOL @ the butt-hurt of so many Pakistanis here at Hasina.

On one hand they say that they do not care about BD and on the other, they open threads like this!

.
Saying that bengladesh is moving forward but this very act shows bengladesh is still stuck in 1970s. @Mage plz correct me if I am wrong but there is a saying bodies are never buried in politics they are kept on hold always to use them again.

Occupied? Last I checked Pakistan accepts Bangladesh as a sovereign nation, so does India and rest of the world.
Modi him self admitted that India was behind muktibani movement
India certainly trained and assisted Mukti bahini. It was win win for both. After the war Indian army was told to leave Bangladesh and they did so. Even the French helped IS in their liberation struggle. So is USA occupied by France?
Hassina still executing people for what?
Hasina does not execute anyone. The court decides who gets what punishment. The trials are certainly politically motivated. But in 2009 Awami league came to power by promising to start trial for war criminals. Those who committed crime has to be punished. And it does not bother Pakistan one bit.

Politicians will use whatever they can to get votes. Bangladesh is more than its politicians. It is a country of 160 million people and it is one of the fastest growing countries on the world according to many international institutions. And as long as people's lives are the improving Hasina doesn't need to worry about internal revolt. You see our people cares more about their family, jobs/business than politics. And we are a homogeneous society so much vulnerable to foreign influence and religious/sectarian extremism. That's why we don't get bombed by US drones neither we have shootings or bomb blasts every now and then.

Fear not; For the crimson banner that proudly ripples in this glorious dawn, shall not fade,
Before the last fiery hearth that is ablaze within my homeland is extinguished*.
For that is the star of my people, and it will forever shine;
It is mine; and solely belongs to my valiant nation.

Frown not, I beseech you, oh thou coy crescent!
Smile upon my heroic nation! Why the anger, why the rage?
Our blood which we shed for you shall not be worthy otherwise;
For freedom is the absolute right of my GOD**-worshipping nation!

- Turkish National Anthem's first two stanzas. *Implies MAD which the Pak folks are ready to implement in verbatim should the need arises. **El Hak Allah-u Azimushshan

I can live without food, but never without freedom - Ustad Bediuzzaman Said Nursi (RA)

The nation which voluntarily gives away its freedom deserves to be treated as slaves - Gazi Mustafa Kemal Pasha

Fear is no policy, surrender is no option - Hamid Gul Pasha

BD PM Hasina, during her official visits to India, works as a part-time cook at the Presidential Palace in Delhi, the rape capital of the world...

For a strategic reason Pak keeps 70% of her business activities undocumented, unregulated etc.....
