Well, they have more commonality than say Indians and Germans.
But in the end we are all humans.

Instead of opening up, the south asians is going the opposite, this might be as a result of political tensions among pak india, economic tensions b/w US China, i don't see regional connectivity of any sort in the next decade or so in the subcontinent.

There could be India-Bangladesh connectivity in areas other than what trade is there now. I mean in areas like films in a more formalized way. Bollywood films are banned for screening in BD cinemas now, though I believe in Indian Bengali films there are BD artistes participating.

Yes there are primarily two actresses from Bangladesh who are acting in Indian Bengali films - mainly for 'fame' purposes. I mean the compensation isn't much to speak of, if that riles the Hindu Mahasabha folks in Kolkata.

Try to rectify the reason why people hate you. This is as simple as it. Without South Asian you lot has no identity. Arabs and Persians are not ready to make you as their own.

Although there are /talent interests on both sides that speak against opening up - and say that it is harmful for both Kolkata and Dhaka film industries - collaboration on important joint venture films in terms of investment money continues. There is tons of money interest from Bangladesh, and the talent for directing is usually better available on the Kolkata side (by Bollywood proxy involvement). Bangladeshi movie-goers realize that Bangladesh is deficient in this area and there is already a qualitative uptick in the various types of movies shot and released in the Bangladesh side.

Kolkata Actress Subhasree Ganguly has also acted in Joint Venture films shot and released in Dhaka.

Also - there is significant opening up in terms of trucking and transit on the Bangladesh side (in terms of transit terminals and logistics facilities for Bangladeshi local usage), Bangladesh is yet to realize the returns form those significant investments on the Bangladesh side with transit traffic from India.

Bangladesh already boasts several river container terminals (one is Pangaon near Dhaka, illustrated) that are open to Indian Inland container shipping, but the fleets or the cargo from Indian side is absent more or less.

There is another thread in the Bangladeshi sub-forum that says Bangladesh earned only Taka 28 lakh in transit fees for the whole last year.
