She should continue as long as her health allows her to do so. She has done a great job and we desperately need her strong leadership and guidance. She has no reason to step down. She has been doing her job flawlessly.

Lol, sounds like something RAW would say.

If AL keep ruling after 2024 then Hasina must remain prime minister , as other AL leaders are not reliable .

So before making genuine leadership if Hasina leave and AL keep ruling, there will be anarchy in Bangladesh again. AL is naturally a immature political party like other political parties of Bangladesh, so without Hasina it will not perform well.

So Hasina should not retire before making devoted leadership if she really believes that she is working for mankind.

She seriously needs to create some genuine leaders first and then should think of retirement.

Saw this coming and mentioned it in another thread as well. She will be 78 in 5 years and its a god time to retire. Despite all the negatives of Hasina, she has done extremely well on the economic front and I dont think anyone can deny that.

What happens after 5 years? One of the biggest signs of what is to come is the change in cabinet ministers. Most of the India-leaning and senior seasoned politicians have been kicked because after Hasina, only they have the gut, power and experience to take helm. This will lead to power vaccum and AL may break into factions. So the best solution is replace them with people who are good at taking order and wont revolt.

So yes, it is Joy who is most likely poised to take her place. You heard it here first!

Joy? But he is not directly active in politics ! So how can he suddenly take his mother's place ? Please elaborate.

But well yes joy is highly educated man, so he will do better I think if Bangladesh can move to gentleman's politics.

As someone who knows Joy .... let me be very clear.... he is not particularly savvy....prone to drinking excessively and i say this without judgement is "fluid" in his personal life.

He enjoys the trappings of power.... but he is very unlikely to want to take the front seat because of hyper complicated personal life..... his cousin on the hand is another matter...

I thought she and her BAL will be in power at least until 2041. She is still young at 71 years of age. She will become 94 years old in 2041. Actually, she wants to live 100. Once she told about her grandfather Lutfur Rahman who died at around 95 (?). She also told that her father, with such a strong frame and health, could have lived until 100.

I wish her to live a healthy life until 100 and remain our PM so that we can see Bullet Trains, Jet Planes, and Space Ships during this time. For the time being she and her BAL govt should at least tackle the garbage disposal, clean roads, and waterlogging issues to prove their abilities.

I have seen this Joy making speeches only in the Seminar Rooms American style. It is quite difficult to become intimate with the mass unless he is brought up like that. Hasina has almost that kind of upbringing because of her father but not Joy and also Begum Zia.
