PM asks China to back India’s bid for UNSC seat, NSG membership

Chinese and Soviets died defending their country against invasion from fascist alliance and fought to repel the invasion with what little resources it had, but you Indians lived happily under British rule achieving nothing in WW2 and now demand UNSC.

Beg harder :coffee:

Are you even unable to comprehend my simple ask to stop quoting me or you just too much of a troll?

Anyway, cry about your 'sacrifice' in WWII more. :coffee:

Playing victim, no wonder you associate with Pak, then again, you might just be another false flagger.

. . .
lolz.......... pakistanis were saying same things about obama also before Indo-US nuclear deal took place and later were crying like bitches.
Pakistan will never bet on USA, Pakistanis knows USA as backstabber. So you are wrong on claiming this line.

According to the Indian members here, China ALREADY supports India for the UNSC permanent seat.

That's what they keep saying. Over and over again.

So why is Modi asking for our support for a UNSC permanent seat, if they already have it?

Any logic?

P.S. Think about it from our perspective please. We have a big active territorial dispute with India, why on Earth would we give you guys a permanent seat, instead of using it as a bargaining chip in the border dispute?

I mean seriously, just think about it for 5 seconds at least.

Well that's the issue is'nt it.. Some of them dont think or does not have the capacity

On one hand they post half a dozen articles about P5 members apparently endorsing India's membership.. On the other hand Mr. Modi is gallivanting around the world pleading for approval ??.. What gives ?

When I first came to this site, I experienced it a lot. After checking the internet for a bit, I found a term which describes this phenomenon:

Cognitive dissonance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This means holding two contradictory ideas/beliefs in your head at the same time.

Never seen so much of this as I've seen on this forum.

.
UN is useless...a membership should not matter much for India.

On the other hand, NSG is very important.

This should clear things out.

China falls short of backing India for a permanent UN seat - The Hindu

Asked to comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assertion that India deserved a rightful place in the UN Security Council, the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hong Lei acknowledged that “India is an important developing country in international affairs”.

“We understand and support India’s desire of playing a big role in international institutions including the United Nations,” he added.

However, the Chinese side made it clear that it was disinclined to unilaterally support India for a permanent slot, preferring instead a collective consensus-based approach, which would be part of a larger “package” of UNSC reforms.

“The Chinese side will make efforts with all parties to strive for a package that accommodates the concerns of all parties through extensive democratic consultations,” Mr. Hong observed.

and @Stealth @Gibbs

So essentially this means China has no problem supporting India's claim if other UNSC members come on board.

Irrespective of the opinions of trolls, poor comprehenders, and downright idiots here, UNSC reforms will take place and that will clear the way for India to be considered a contender for UNSC membership with Veto powers. It is a matter of time.

This should clear things out.

China can't go directly FOR India right now. Pakistan would be orphaned and China will lose a huge investment in Gwadar. Instead they will try to walk a middle path, wash their hands off blocking India in the UN but not overly supporting it either.
