Oh man..I remember the days when Tejas vs JF-17 debate used to happen every where on this forum.


And now JF-17 has utterly left inferior tejas project in dust and surpassed it by MILESSSSS as a project. Nobody even mentions JFT in same line as tejashit anymore

We are nearing 100th JF-17 induction in PAF while tejashit is not even indicted formally in the airforce with proper squadron

I don't understand why people are even comparing a Joint Venture project like JF-17 with a bird completely designed and developed in India (irrespective of the parts used). If you want to compare, compare it with any of India's joint ventures which we are successfully running with Russia for well over 6 decades. Just consider for example JF-17 Vs Sukhoi 30MKi, which we have over 200 numbers ????

Mki is not joint venture. It's Russians tweaked part of the plane for India. Like F-15K us for Koreans. Koreans never shamelessly regard F-15 as joint ventures like Indians do. .But they do believe Buddha is Korean.

Sukhoi came up with SU30MKI specially for India during 90s, it became a success & India decided to have them in big numbers Sukhoi got a big customer & some funding for their dying industry. If it weren't for India, the Sukhoi wouldn't have achieved that level of growth which have been done by MiG.
During the deal some forked Su27/30 were provided to India off the shelf in the early stages, though the modified flanker which was specially designed for India were fitted by HAL & old SU30 were given back to Russia.
Older SU30 (which Chinese made their clones named Jxx) doesn't have canards & 3D thrust vectoring. While Indian MKIs were designed with canards & thrust vectoring engines + more enhancements, MKIs became a huge success for India & Sukhoi & so on Russians also decided to induct them after watching it's performance & other smaller countries also came to lock deal for SU30 (mki) flanker with Russia.

No one claimed MKI is a joint venture. Its just that India has similar kind of participation with respect to the MKIs as what Pakistan has with JF-17. (Some might argue MKI has more Indian inputs than JF-17 has Pakistani inputs).
And what's wrong with Korean believing Buddha was Korean. If Chinese can decide who will be the Lama, what's wrong with what the Koreans believe.

Tejss will be inducted in now approaching 130+
Tejss project as spawned a complete infrastructure and know how to Indengiously develope future mark two. Tejss or even amca and drones and helicopters .

Tejss had superior Tech in mark one which is not available in any thunder even in block two.

I would much rather be in Indian position. Than having to induct budget Chinease fighters thst even the chinease do not think worthy of their own plaaf

Congrats on 100th jf17 .
Tejas has been inducted in IAF last year .
And a plane like jf17 would never be considered in IAF . That is JF17 Vs Tejas for you .
