PIA has placed order for three A320 aircraft from GECAS of which one aircraft has been received while the remaining one will be delivered to PIA in September

Gardezi said that PIA will receive the third A320 aircraft in October while one aircraft on wet lease will be inducted in PIA fleet in August and it is expected that PIA will have 7-10 more aircraft inducted in its fleet by December, this year 2014.

I guess the title is a little confusing. When it says 2nd A320 I thought it to mean that till now PIA had only one A320. I guess this is a new order of 8 aircraft because I am sure PIA would have many A320's already

P.S. I just checked in Wikipedia. It says PIA just has 2 A320s. Which is surprising considering that it is one of the most popular aircraft .

sir jee still better then nothing these A320s will reduce load and also less fuel . i wish some 20 in total can bring back airline . don't forget next 5 b777s are coming also so no worry .

Pakistan has A310s in its fleet but induction of A320s has recently started as per their plan to replace older aircrafts with newer fuel efficient ones. A320s and B777s are being inducted according to this plan so as to reduce the fuel and maintenance costs on the aging fleet.
