LAHORE – A PIA’s plane was reportedly grounded at Lahore Airport on Saturday after being struck by a bird.

The bird hit PIA flight PK-295 on Saturday afternoon as it was landing about 18:15pm, Aviation sources said.

The plane carrying 130 passengers and crew members was flying to Abu Dhabi via Rahimyar Khan.

According to sources, the bird struck the engine of the plane. Engineers were trying to make sure none of the bird had been sucked into the engine.

The landing took place without incident and the pilot skilfully grounded the plane.

The amount of close calls these guys have made it out of are amazing.

I think, what Sir @Indus Falcon was asking was, "Is this the aircraft, involved in the incident"?

Ooops.......

According to this link it was

By Simon Hradecky, created Saturday, Nov 5th 2016 19:10Z, last updated Saturday, Nov 5th 2016 19:10ZA PIA Pakistan International Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration AP-BLS performing flight PK-295 from Lahore to Rahim Yar Khan (Pakistan) with 130 people on board, climbed out of Lahore's runway 36R when an engine (CFM56) ingested a bird prompting the crew to stop the climb at 3000 feet and return to Lahore for a safe landing on runway 36R about 15 minutes after departure.

A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration AP-BLU reached Rahim Yar Khan with a delay of 3 hours.

The engine received damage to the fan blades.

Bird hits happen around the world, one of the famous is US Airways flight 1549 ditched in Hudson river by Captain Sully though thats very very rare case that an airline lose both engines due to bird strike.

Here, PIA's A320 Lima Sierra operating as Pakistan 295 to AUH via RYK from LHE got bird strike in 1 engine and its still safe to fly and maneuver the airliner with single engine to commence landing at nearest airport. Though media always create hypes and chaos about PIA whenever such incidents happen with terms like "escapes deadly crash"

The flight is LHR - AUH via RYK
LHE - Lahore
LHR - London Heathrow

Many of them are retired PAF pilots - so they have to be good.
No doubt Pakistani pilots are one of the best in the world though not much from PAF but many join PIA through cadet pilot program after passing CPL/IR with training from local flying clubs. Mainly the exPAF are in Shaheen Air and/or Airblue
