PESHAWAR: The much-touted Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project is now going to incur an additional cost of Rs2.5 billion after nine changes in its design were decided.

According to sources, Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) made some major changes in the design of the mega project, which have resulted in increasing the cost. They added that nine major changes have been made in three sections of the project, which include construction of an underground station at Aman Chowk and a new flyover for the BRT alongside Arbab Sikandar Khan Khalil flyover.

Furthermore, construction of a route to the airport near CSD on section 2 of the project has also been decided. The bus stop opposite FG School has been transferred to Aman Chowk, while the BRT would also pass through a flyover near Tatara Park and Tehkal in order to not obstruct traffic flow in these areas, sources said.

PDA director general, however, maintained that the project will be completed with a cost of Rs49 billion.

Speaking to a private news channel, Israrul Haq said that the changes made in the project were aimed at further improving it and they will not affect its cost. He further stated that they want to complete the project early, yet making sure it is flawless.

Lahore Metro cost 30 billion and its was full of filthy rotten corruption of baboons, Peshawar Meter yet smaller costing 49 billion...the cleanest, most transparent project in Pakistan...all hail to Ceasar Khan

. .
Rs50 billion? Remember the days when Imran Khan and Asad Umar were going to build metro bus for Rs2 billion

The most important thing to note is that KPK govt. is spending 49 billion Rs. on a project which they once criticized and called 'Jangla Bus', and at the same time spending... much less on health & education, which were hallmark of their campaigns... check this...

"In the current revenue expenditure, the province would spend Rs49.86bn on law and order, Rs26.89bn on health, Rs27.55bn on education, Rs6.7bn on housing and community amenities and Rs6bn on social protection."

Peshawar costs more becuase they are building 3 parking plaza's, 1100
shops, bike sharing system, IT system, it will be same as China Metro
bus system with all facilities. This is why it costs more and there will be
no subsidy.

You changed yout tune very quickly from Metro to health/education. LOL

PTI has done much better first time in KPK then Noora brothers 30 years in Punjab.
Health and Education budgets have increased in KPK, just education budget has gone from 60
billion in 2013 to over 140 billion this year. Doctors salaries have increased and they have
also been sent to rural areas.

I think you should be worried about the health and education in Punjab. Even Noora
family runs away to London for a check up.

but still if you disagree, no issues, cuz you or me are here to give our narratives/opinions and respect others narratives even with disagreement, and not here to impose one's narrative to others...or abuse each other...

Why do you always post news from KPK and why not Balouchistan and Sindh
as well? Or do you only get paid for news against PTI?

PTI has come into power first time and they have performed much better
than 30 years of PMLN. From a depoliticised Police force to the billion
tree tsunami, PTi is doing there job.

Bro i have a very good job in software development field, i don't need to work for any political party ALHAMDULILLAH, why focus on KPK and Punjab alone?...its because, Right now there are two main competitors in Pakistan... PMLN and PTI, i just compare their performance and try to give my opinion or analysis with neutral mindset...but still this is my opinion and anyone can disagree with it or call me politically biased (i think everyone is politically biased and its not a bad thing, cuz everyone support a particular political party based on their own logic), but i never try to impose my opinion on others, or try to abuse/accuse other forum members... i respect yours and all other members opinions/posts, look if you or me think politically, it means we care for our country, and we can have difference of opinions, end of the day we all are Pakistanis..., having said that its my right to disagree where i feel the opinion presented is not right, just like you and others... Regards...

You sound like an educated guy just look from a neutral perspective. Pmln
has been in power on/off since 1985, 3 times in centre and if you think
that Pakistan is going in right direction then vote for Pmln. I am living in
UK so whoever comes into power in Pak does not bother me.

If you compare UK with Pak, Uk yearly budget is $1000 billion for about
65 million population and Pak budget is about $40 billion for over 200
million population. But if Pakistani's are happy with the condition they are
living in then outsiders can't do anything.
