I have seen men driven to suicide over accounts of false rape charges. I have seen genuine cases as well. A rape accused killing himself is extremely unusual. If the person has honor and cant live without it, it makes little sense to rape someone - especially when there are alternatives*. So if you want to feel guilty about being a man, cool, but I know that evil does not discriminate between gender.

Or we can open a helpline for women - they will charge and the man will be castrated. No trials no nothing. Of course you should be beware of any spiteful girl you have encountered in your life.

It does not matter anymore. The accused will be burnt...he is dead anyway - shamed and the family will be ostracized - without trial. The media will push the counter smuggling operations of the AR. The AR will not meddle much in fear of adverse PR. It works.

You have a point there.. Some do indulge in false accusation to settle scores or for their own evil agenda .. But we have to face the fact that we live in country where women are still discriminated socially, politically and religiously ..Though we are far ahead of many developing countries in relation to women issues but we are still have a long way to go.. So naturally common folks get enraged when we hear of violence against women.

An Army jawan, the prime accused in the recent rape case of three women, Monday allegedly committed suicide here in Assam's Karbi Anglong district, the police said.

The jawan, identified as Satyabir Dara of the 8 Jat Regiment, shot himself with his rifle and was rushed to Diphu Civil Hospital where he was declared "brought dead," Karbi Anglong Superintendent of Police M J Mahanta said.

Dara, hailing from Haryana, was identified as the prime accused and was likely to be arrested today, he said adding, the body has been sent for postmortem.
