Your sensationalizing. The dollar is in trouble and China is GCC's biggest customer. I'm not 100% sure that KSA will oppose a China block like they did the Soviets. Its best for KSA and the GCC to hedge and not be completely in USA camp. That's the most logical option for them. OIC could be an economic behemoth in its own right if handled correctly.
You are over simplifying things. Gulf countries cannot make their own decisions - FULL STOP. It does not matter what they want; they are being spanked to follow the US.
