wasnt there than but i remember massive shia sunni riots in 80's some time and the formation of MQM after which there was never any sectarian riots in karachi .. this didnt went well with jihadis thus why molvi aziz and all kinds of jihadi extremist molvis hate MQM to the core .. as MQM never let them have it their way in khi .. however it seems this shall now be over soon.
That is indeed true, MQM united the people of Karachi under one platform and largely put an end to Shia Sunni fighting. After the creation of MQM,all these so called jihadists have made it their mission to destroy MQM. It seems that some establishment also supports the destruction of MQM to give a freehand to mullahs.
MQM is the only thing stopping Karachi from becoming a terrorist invested slum, but I too fear that the reign of MQM is coming to an end. Terrorists from all over Pakistan were imported in to karachi, and now the rangers is clearing the road for them before they openly take their place over MQM.
