Not four, SC orders ECP to verify votes of two Punjab constituences​

Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani on Monday has given remarks that if the Supreme Court of Pakistan issued an order for a verification of votes of four constituencies then every party raised this issue before the court.

The CJ given these remarks during the hearing of voters verification.

The CJ further said that it was not the matter of only four constituencies but it would decide the new phenoma.

He said that it was impossible to stop petitions regarding to verify voters in other constituencies.

“Other parties and groups can raised the voice that why the CJ only hear Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) petition”, the CJ added.

During the hearing, the PTI chairman Imran Khan said that Election Commission of Pakistan has failed to resolve the issue and the apex court was the last destiny for us to expect justice.

He further said that he was a Pakistani and stands here for all Pakistanis who wanted justice from the courts.

He demanded that court to order voters verification in only four constituencies to get the result.

After this, the CJ given an order to ECP to present reports regarding the verification in NA-154 and NA-125 in 15 days.

So two instead of four which is PTI's demand from day one. And no NA-122? Speaker NA has been saved by SC or what? To me, if it had to be only two constituencies then NA 122 and 125 were more important. NA-154 is Lodhran-1 from where Jahangir Tareen initially declared winner.

im afraid that this whole thing will bite back PTI. the reason being, elections were not conducted using that 'special ink' (i dont know exactly) which can be used to match the thumb prints on the ballots with the exact people registered in that constituency. This simply means that the verification process will say that lets say 60% votes could not be verified. And this tells u nothing.

PTI is dragging itself too much and im afraid they'll miss highlighting their work in KPK or worse.

The ink you're talking about is magnetic ink, and you are right about the un-verified votes. But along with them, thumb verification will reveal number of fake and duplicate votes like in Karachi.
