After essaying Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in
Sardar, Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal is
likely to play Narendra Modis character in a
biopic about the Gujarat chief minister.
The versatile actor opines that Patel and
Modi have many similarities an important
one being rashtra prem (love for the nation).
Both Sardar (Patel) and Modi share many
qualities. They are straightforward, blunt in
nature and visionaries. They are sons of thei
soil, robust yet simple and they never
pocketed money, said Rawal. He believes
essaying Modi will be a turning point for him
as an actor, like it would be for the country, i
Modi leads it.
The NRI Mitesh Kumar Patel, who is making
the film on the life and political career of
Modi, said that Rawal is still being
considered for the role. His Rs50-crore
movie, which is likely to hit theatres in 2014,
is a biopic and not a documentary trackin
Modis life from the time he used to serve
tea at bus stops in Gujarat.
Rawal denies possibility of making his own
film about Modi, at least as of now. I dont
want to indulge myself into making films (of
the same content) that clash; like it happene
in the case of movies on Shahid Bhagat
Singh.
