I've heard this philosophy many times. It can also be applied to Hizbullah, and the US/Mujahideen.

It's no conspiracy, all it is is that at some time the aims of theses organizations were complementary. Hamas was in conflict with the PLO and it was in Israel's interest to arm Hamas and thereby weaken the PLO. Same with Hizbullah.

Doesn't mean they take their orders from Israel now, or at any time in the past.
