Palestinian baby dies in arson attack

I do not hope the left-wing will rise because they're actually gonna do something, but because they're less harmful.

Hum! Voting intelligently are we? Impressive! It takes a staunch soul to go for the lesser evil …
when one's heart would vote good if the choice was available. Kudos mayn fraynd!

more reason why I hate Israel.......

Don not hate Israel the nation as a whole, Tipu. Rayz above just showed he is a decent honest human being
and there are more than one Israeli type. The settlers themselves vary in "style" though usually extremists.
But moving from national conviction to religious, there are those traditionalists that study the Law & Prophets
and are fighting incorporation into Tsahal ( they refuse to do military service ). There are then millions of Israeli
that are very modern and only want to live well and go to the beach often ready to share it with anyone from
Palestinians to Israeli Arabs and tourists. And I exchanged with Yadin Kaufmann, a very nice guy who is part
of a peace group that attempts to raise Palestinian living conditions. He helps start-ups in Ramallah get up & running.

What you see there is a policy that uses the settlements as a tool. It gets the most hardcore citizens out of their hair.
And they can dissociate themselves publicly from them on occasion. The idea is to outlast the Palestinians which is
why the Jerusalem govt fights any international recognition so much. Slow but constant increments in settlements
and control of Jerusalem East go on faster than concessions in negotiations that are always dropped before signing
anything due to some intifada / war op anyway so that hopefully the problem ( Palestinians which being divided
don't have a real voice but 2 opposing ones which itself blocks negos ) will disappear before the solution appears?

Bluntly put, under this policy, Israel has no interest in peace : they're playing the clock!

But again, that's a policy. Society is changing and could make it stop. The question is is it changing fast enough?

Good day all, Tay.

. .
Problem is,if you limit relations with Israel this way you miss out on the benefits to society that occur from having a healthier collective psyche, one that isn't continually distorted by messing up right and wrong, the endorsement of extremism over human rights, etc.

Diplomatic relations are not based on some moral position. Pursuit of national interest is the ultimate objective.

Pakistan needs to have diplomatic relations (whether open or under-the-table) for its own benefit. We will continue to criticize Israel at the UN for obvious purposes.

I am certain that Israel can contemplate that mere criticism by the Pakistan is just a hogwash. It would only be ceremonial.

Perhaps. Yet where Israel is concerned Pakistanis are denied any kind of debate about the national interest! You've been reduced from citizens to mere subjects. If you want to gain your dignity, you have to oppose that, yes?

List of Israeli price tag attacks
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
All these purported attacks over seven years, yet last week's is the first fatality? Apparently the intent isn't murder but intimidation. (But last week's attackers still need to be charged with 2nd or 3rd degree murder - that's what it is when you commit arson and someone dies.)

All these attacks to gain land and nothing done about it.. many times arrests with no convictions.. Haaretz has a great article on this with the intimidation of settlers. First off all settlements are illegal, secondly they terrorise families and when they retaliate by throwing stones they get shot and blamed for throwing stones, and intimidation for so many years comes is considered torture. so stop defending them and purported attacks go read your own media and what some papers have said about these attacks.

settlers are terrorists who intimidate and terrorise people and write revenge on the walls when they hurt others. the villagers fear for their lives and live in terror, the very goal of terrorists. when will the mass bombing start on settler camps without regard to children and women..

Bluntly put, under this policy, Israel has no interest in peace : they're playing the clock!
the world has started hating them, with support being lost in every corner of the world. And with Israel losing what it had, sympathy, the tide will change soon. the UN is being questioned by countries and dissent against the brutal views of the country can be seen as the loss of favour even in the highest level of the US government. The people see now what they never were shown before thanks to the internet and social media and they will influence the thought process of their countries in time.

Haaretz is no great judge of what's legal and what isn't. I don't trust their writing very far, either - they seem to see what they want, not what is.

...so stop defending them and purported attacks -
Not defending them. I added "purported" because at least one of the attacks on the wiki list - Tuba Zangaria - is most unlikely to have been "price tag" activity. I will investigate others further later, if I can.

27 year old Israeli woman suffered moderate injuries tonight from Palestinian firebomb attack in Jerusalem.

There have been convictions: link
less then ten percent are convicted
and this was 3 years
for All three, aged 22-25, were found guilty of racist incitement, conspiracy to commit a hate crime, arson and vandalism. and this was the most ever given
However, in spite of recommendations made by the attorney general, the justice and internal security ministers, and even the Shin Bet, the governmental cabinet has decided not to deem 'price tag' attacks as acts of terror, rather opting to enhance the defense minister's ability to curb such attacks by deeming their organizers as illegal associations.

yes and all these are also wrong with the newspaper. grow up they are terrorists go bomb them also now

Doubtless that's why, after the baby's death, there's a general call for increased severity in these matters.

.
do not give me platitudes, it has been years and years and all your government does is ignore the issue it is worse than what the terrorists do abroad, because there there is no proper law and order system that compares with Israel in harsh brutal methods but apparently it all mellows down when it is not Palestinian blood. Why no air strikes and a couple of artillery shells, on these settlements.

Ah, now you've done gone out on a bender, here. Yeah, it's tough for you to evaluate the facts and context fairly because you'd surely conclude that what Israel does, collectively, is more fair and just and better for the world than what dozens of Muslim-ruled regimes offer their inhabitants. What you're doing satisfies you psychologically but doesn't excuse you morally.

no actually it is very simple logic, you call all those nations terrorists because of their hate speech, they have no actions other than their speech at times. but than comes people who are actually labelled terrorists by your law and ministers, and your own internal intelligence, yet your biased government can not even do what your law and intelligence has proven to be terrorists. and more and more people die and more and more settlements are spawned while you debate on how to handle the situation. what do you think if you intimidate a person and the law has no answer will this man act rationally after a certain time. when he loses all rational thoughts and acts with vengeance your media will call the victim of years of intimidation as a terrorist, but forgive those who committed years of intimidation. there are two type of tortures, and the settlers apply both yet are not hunted down like other terrorists who do the same.

.
If I may, most settlers aren't like that, and those who are - radical - have not always been like that.

When the Israeli settling of the west bank began, somewhere in the 70's, there was "plenty for everyone". The defeated Arab population didn't make noise about it, since it actually profited them in a way. The Hashemites were not exactly kind to them, and Israel created new economic ties, like new air.

As the years passed, the apartment prices in Tel Aviv and central Israel in general, became higher and higher. The settlements offered an alternative, a low-price house with a community feeling, just 20-30 min drive from Tel Aviv. You'd be surprised to know that most of the citizens labeled as settlers, meaning people who live beyond the 67' border, are not there because of some agenda, but rather social economic reasons. In a way I think the government wanted this situation to happen.

For a long time, the settlements became the Israeli "wild west", where the mainstream education is decaying. That's when the radicals come in. The religious leaders that control the settlers are not ultra-Orthodox, but rather their political rivals. The more influence they have, the more power they seize over the religious institute in Israel, but that's another story. This sect is the one that is swaying away from Israeli mainstream, at least media-wise.

I hope to bring to knowledge that there are people in Israel who are sick of this. I am personally tired of talking about who killed who, who came first, and who started. That kind of stuff doesn't solve problems. I have tons of facts that can dissolve the existence of the Palestinian people, but how does that help anyone? We need to focus on the ones that made these problems be, and that's the Israeli government, Hamas, Fatah and other scumbag governments.

.

What?o_O

There should be no Israeli settlers on Palestinian territory (West Bank). End of story. They have absolutely no business there. They have Israel for that. There is plenty of room in the Negev Desert.
