Recently, the 2nd 330MW coal-fired power station in the 2nd district of Pakistan's Thar coal-fired power station, constructed by the Hubei Engineering Company of China Power Construction Group, was successfully connected to the grid for the first time. The status and parameters of the units are normal and the operation is stable.

Since the trial operation of the project component department, the project department of Hubei Engineering Company of China Power Construction Group has overcome many difficulties and carried forward the spirit of hard work and hard work of the electric construction railway army, and cooperated with each other to complete boiler ignition, blow pipe and steam turbine rush. After all the nodes, the unit was successfully completed for the first time. The smooth integration of the No. 2 unit also marks the completion of the 168-hour full-load test run, achieving the ultimate goal of production in the first half of the year.

It is reported that the Pakistan Taal Power Station project is the first coal-electricity integrated project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. It is also one of the priority development projects for China to implement the “Belt and Road Initiative” and promote the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The smooth implementation of the project has effectively promoted the development of Pakistan's national energy and helped to strengthen Pakistan's ability to rely on its own energy, which will greatly increase the well-being of local people. The successful commissioning of the power station will greatly alleviate the current shortage of electricity in Pakistan and will have a profound impact on Pakistan's national infrastructure.

great news now we are using our own resources instead of importing coal

This is a coal-fired power plant. Coal needs to be used to generate electricity, but the electricity itself is produced, and the price is definitely cheap.

Pakistan's coal resources are distributed in Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab and the North West Frontier Province. The quality ranges from lignite to sub-bituminous. The calorific value ranges from 5000-13000 British pounds per pound. (BTU/Lb). In the Thar region of southern Sindh, there is one of the world's largest quality brown coal mines with reserves estimated at 175 billion tons. The coal content of the Tar coalfield is 1-2%, the ash content is 6-7%, the fixed carbon content is 16-17%, and the average calorific value is 5774 British thermal units/lb. In addition to Taal coal, coal in other regions has high sulfur and ash content, so it is mostly used in brick kilns and through "liquefied combustion technology" for power generation. Because there is no moderately volatile bituminous coal, local coal is not suitable for coke production. In 1980, a coal washing plant was built in the Sharigh coal mine in Balochistan. Because the washed coal was too sulphur to be accepted by the Pakistani steel mill (Bagang), the coal washing plant was subsequently shut down. At present, 80% of the coal mines in Pakistan are operated by small coal mines. More than 5,000 small coal mines employ about 300,000 miners. The coal output is about 4.5 million tons per year, 90% of which is used for brick kiln brick making. In the past 50 years, the share of coal in Pakistan's energy consumption has fallen sharply, from 68% in 1948 to 35% in 1958, and only 5% in 2002. According to the statistics of the World Coal Association (WCI) in December 2002, the proportion of coal power in power generation is 52% in the US, 53% in Germany, 58% in the UK, 77% in Australia, 77% in India, 78% in China, and 88% in South Africa. Poland is 96%, the world average is 39%, while Pakistan is less than 1%. Due to cheap, convenient and government-subsidized other energy competition, the use of coal in the Pakistani industry has been less and less in the past many years, and many chemical plants and cement plants switched to natural gas or fuel in the 1960s. However, given the current energy situation and the high cost of imported oil, people's eyes have turned to coal. 1. Coal reserves and distribution According to estimates by the Geological Survey of Pakistan-GSP, Pakistan's coal reserves are around 185 billion tons, of which 184 billion tons are in Sindh (Talla 77.5 billion tons, Lakra Lakhra 1.3 billion tons) , Songda-Satta Sonda-Thatta 3.7 billion tons, etc.), another 217 million tons in Balochistan Province, 235 million tons in Punjab Province, and 90 million tons in the North West Frontier Province. Pakistan's local coals range from lignite to sub-bituminous coal. The difference in physical properties and chemical content, combined with higher sulfur and ash content, makes it difficult to adapt to the quality requirements of industrial users.
