What's new

Pakistan's textile & apparel exports rise 28.67% in July-Aug '21

FATF has said to stop this and FBR is already working with DHA as well.

"He said DNFBP was maligned with FBR as a tax imposing body rather it was going to serve as a regulator for the real estate sector."

Regardless, most of these will be reversed in next govt..this is common perception overseas hence you are not seeing major investments pouring in as compared to india bengladesh where stability means more investment

Red tapes are still there

Issues with power sector largely unchanged

He is dangerously optimistic. Anyways textiles have a huge potential, they account for 70% of TERF financing, textile machinery imports are at an all time high. They are expanding.

IT industry needs concessions and investment. There is strong growth in IT, we have almost doubled IT exports in 3 years, more than combined 10 years improvement previously.

Textiles and IT will be the driver of export growth going forward.

All export sectors even remittances should be facilitated.
Textile is not something that will change the direction of the country.

Textile sector in the world is based on very low paid worker. Bangladesh took away textile as they were cheaper. Similarly textile is on decline in china. Whenever u try to improve income of ur people textile will take a hit.

Its best to focus on value added sectors.

Furthermore industrial revolution 4.0 is arround the corner where alot of manufacturing will be taken on by AI based machines therefore tarin is right to push for IT.

In my own personal opinion an economy can only be build with the help of 5 mother industries which includes.

Steel.
Polymers.
Chemicals.
IT.
Machinery.

We excel at none. So whenever we try to expedite growth our import bill get increased due to import of the above sector products.

So our focus should be on developing these 5 mother industries within pakistan
