I have been saying it for years the generals are just as or if not more corrupt then zardaris and sharifs. Why else would they overlook their corruption?? Tbf, the Iranians are extremely unreliable when it comes to delivering natural gas. They will cut your supply without giving you an advance warning. They do this all the time with Turkey.

Pakistan didn't invest in solar energy sufficiently. That's the country's most fatal mistake imo.

The supplier makes profits when LNG is cheap and defaults when its expensive

Also seems it was magnificent idea to build LNG plants instead of coal plants (original plan)

Pakistan missed a trick when it failed to go for hydro and coal fired thermal stations in a big way in the 1990s and early 2000s. It instead chose to go for oil fired stations and gas as primary fuels. While Pak doesnt have much indigenous gas or coal and is thus dependent upon the international market, at least coal is cheaper than gas.

While solar is getting cheaper by the year, it still has limitations that it is not available round the clock.
