@AgNoStiC MuSliM

If it is found to be true, what options do Pakistan have. Lets say in terms of taking the clowns to task legally.

Not much.

Our foreign service for the last 40 years is worth the $hit they do when posted overseas.

They drink chai and $hit.

No need to consider anything better from them.

WEBDESK: Five years ago a merchant vessel MV Danny FII met with an accident and capsized in the Red Sea carrying 83 passengers and crew, including 16 Pakistanis.

It has now come to light that the 16 Pakistanis are alive and being held captive at an Israeli prison.

Renowned social worker Ansar Burney revealed on Tuesday, that families of 16 missing Pakistanis received news that their loved ones are alive and being held at an Israeli prison.

According to Burney, the families approached Ansar Burney Trust for help on humanitarian grounds, following which Ansar Burney contacted the Government of Israel in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem with a request to help families.

Danny F II (originally Don Carlos) was a cargo ship built in 1975 as a car carrier. It was renamed Danny F II when rebuilt as a livestock transporter in 1994. The ship capsized and sank off Lebanon on 17 December 2009, carrying 83 people, 10,224 sheep, and 17,932 cattle.[1] Thirty-nine people were rescued and nine human bodies recovered. The other passengers and animals are presumed to have died.[2]

...On 17 December 2009, Danny F II capsized and sank in bad weather in the Mediterranean Sea, 11 nautical miles (20 km) from Tripoli, Lebanon (not to be confused with the Libyan city of the same name), while sailing from Montevideo, Uruguay, to Tartarus, Syria, carrying six passengers, 77 crew, 10,224 sheep and 17,932 head of cattle.[1] At least 38 survivors were rescued and nine bodies recovered, including a man who died before reaching a hospital. The ship's British captain, John M Milloy, is reported to have remained on board when the ship rolled over in the high seas.[9] All the livestock are presumed perished.[1]

After a distress call made at 15:55 local time (13:55 UTC), a rescue effort was launched comprising ships from the Lebanese Navy and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, the latter including two ships of the German Navy and one of theItalian Navy. A Bell Griffin HAR2 helicopter from 84 Squadron, Royal Air Force, based at RAF Akrotiri and Cyprus Police Aviation Unit helicopters (Bell 412) following a request from the rescue coordination centre in Larnaca were dispatched to assist in the rescue.[1]

Rescue efforts were hampered by poor weather conditions, high waves and floating carcasses from the ship's livestock cargo.[10]

As of 25 January 2010, 26 people were unaccounted for, presumed dead.[11]

The simple point is. Israel has/does and may continue to try and maintain low level and indirect contacts with Pakistan and will at NO point directly try to antagonize Pakistan. Moreover, there is NO precedent for Israel to hold these people hostage when MUCH more is to be gained(in terms of diplomatic goodwill from the world community) by handing them over in a gesture of goodwill.

The original news / op is confusing.

It doesn't talk about the source that "brought to light" that Pakistanis sailors are alive.

highly suspect.

Sources can be from second sources.. third.. fourth.. and from imagination. The veracity of the article and its publishing are a mixture of both sources and spice potential.

ISLAMABAD: The government on Tuesday informed the Senate that it is indirectly trying to contact Israel through the embassies of US and Jordan in order to recover the 16 missing Pakistanis.

Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that government is trying to establish contacts with Israel indirectly through the American and Jordanian embassies to verify and recover the 16 Pakistani nationals allegedly languishing in Israeli jail.

Senator Shahi Syed from the Awami National Party [ANP] had invited government’s attention to imprisonment of 16 Pakistani nationals in the prisons of Israel.

The Advisor said that the 16 Pakistanis had gone missing in 2009 when a merchant vessel MV Danny FII, carrying 83 passengers and crew, had capsized in the Red Sea.

“It has still not yet been confirmed that the missing Pakistanis are in Israeli jails,” Aziz said, adding that Israeli authorities have not responded to the issue as yet.
