Pakistani nationals emerge as third largest investor in Dubai's real estate market
August 29, 2017

Pakistan has emerged as the third largest real estate investor in Dubai, reveals Dubai Land Department (DLD), citing a data spanning 18 months — from January 2016 to June 2017.

According to the details, shared by DLD on social media, Pakistani nationals have made 5,398 real estate transactions pumping about AED7 billion in Dubai's real estate sector.

The DLD released the list of top 10 nations that invested in the city's real estate sector. The latest report —based on the number of registered transactions — confirms that UAE nationals are in the lead, outperforming all other nations by making the largest investment of about AED37.4bn. UAE nationals made 12,000 transactions in the given period.

Indian citizens followed with about AED20.4bn through 10,628 transactions.

Saudis led the Gulf nations with 5,366 transactions worth AED12.5bn and UK citizens took pole position among the European nationalities with 4,188 transactions worth AED9bn.

Egypt, China, Jordan, Lebanon and the US are among the countries who made it to the list of top 10 investors in Dubai's real estate.

According to the DLD report, 217 nationalities have invested a total of AED151 billion in Dubai's real estate market. DLD Director General Sultan Butti bin Mejren said that these figures showed the confidence of the investors around the globe and the significant efforts made by the government of Dubai to establish a healthy investment climate.

“This list has been unveiled at a time when our real estate market is preparing for a new phase of growth in the run-up to Expo 2020. We are pleased to have witnessed such a high level of interest from global citizens in Dubai, who have invested over AED151bn through across 71,000 real estate transactions in just 18 months,” he said.

i have British and Pakistani passport.
Last time i traveled to another part of UAE Abu Dhabi on my British passport, i was still treated like garbage by the immigration officer. While the white guy behind me with same passport was treated fine.
These idiots have some problems in their heads.

Wow, horrible.

Islam says that all Muslims should be treated with equity.

Horrible to hear your treatment in Dubai.

But this is not surprising either.

Pakistanis should treat Arabs and other Middle Easterners like trash in Pakistan as well because they treat us badly in their countries.

Good to hear that we are the third largest investors in Dubai.

yes we do, and i was born in Pakistan and forever proud.
The Emarati guy saw this as me being inferior to him or something. I could only feel sorry for him.

My brother that is the spirit.

I am Pakistani too forever. Proud to be a Pakistani!

I am always proud to be a Pakistani all the time!

That's the reason. By birth citizen and naturalized are two different category.

Legally a passport holder of a certain country visiting another has the same legal rights as contracted between two countries. There is no legal difference between naturalized or by birth citizens in visa regulations. No country gives separate visas to naturalized or by birth citizens. Both get same visa.
Except dirty India for Pakistani origin citizens of anywhere. Indian embassy is the only one who rejects visas because someone has Pakistani ancestry or a parent from Pakistan , despite the applicant being by birth citizen of another country.
The difference comes into play in your country of adopted passport in case of serious crimes. Naturalized citizens can be deported to their country of birth in certain cases and adopted nationality canceled.
That cannot be done with Citizens by birth. There is at least one such case in Canada where a South African man was deported after Canadian nationality canceled. Dozens of such cases in UK.
But that has nothing to do with UAE, that is something between me and British government .

Well that is horrible to hear.

Now of course no all Arabs are like that, but the Gulf Arabs are like that I heard.

Jordan is brilliant. They will treat you with respect with any passport. Also Yemen was quite good. They too were humble people R.I.P.
I had good experience in Egypt too. But UAE and other countries in Arabian Peninsula are horrible at treating visitors of non white ethnicities regardless of their passports.

I think it just the Gulf countries that may be racist.
