Pakistani included in top 40 analytical scientists

Even Professor Einstein didn't had job and he used to give tuitions to school kids even worked as a clerk so what's your point? Science was never about money there were hundreds of scientist who lived hand to mouth but made tremendous discoveries
measuring a scientists caliber with the amount of money he makes is simply beyond me

If you are a top 40 analytical scientist you would have been scooped up one if these companies at this point.

If your path is academic research, you make tenure 5-7 years from grad school and run your own program.

He is doing neither.

i want to read your work
any book or research papers you wrote?

would you understand chemistry?

no, I'm not going to reveal my real life identity

I know this clown. He interviewed at my company and didn't pass the smell test. His knowledge of the field in whihc he wanted to work is about 5 years behind from company standard. He has been a post-doc (after Ph.D) for 4 years. Looks like he can't find a academic job and too old for industrial job.
So u expect us to believe your rundi.Rona a random troll or this international publication
btw what a smell test he isn't a perfumer but a chemist do u ask people to identify potential toxic chemicals by smelling em u would need new recruits frequently :)
And the guy is working at Texas university sonny

Dumbass, we are the leading analytical instrument company in the world. This is not an indo-pak issue. Its about this guys competence. IF you are without a real job or a professorship 5+ years after your Ph.D. in chemistry, there are some major issues. It means

a) your ideas are not innovative enough for academic grants

b) you work is not impactful enough for a industrial job

Bottomline he is without a real job 6+ years after his Ph.D.

Not that i expect you understand any of what I said
Yet he was included in the top 40 and not you! AMAZING WORLD, INNIT? :enjoy:

You showing off companies like you own them while you claimed you ONLY work there! All these industries ALSO employ everything from a secretary to a scientist...which one are you?
For all we know you MAY be employed at xyz company but are a chaprasi who is burning the jealous oil :coffee:

OTHERWISE, why aint you in top anything? If you are, we would know coz .....IF you were even the slightest bit better than him....you wouldnt behave as you did!

As for academic research...he is producing papers and getting top titles -THAT is the real strength of the research....

For a position (esp tenured you dont get it as easy as you proclaim - maybe in india)....it depends on the rules of the uni you are in....MOST cases you need to wait for a vacancy to apply to a tenured position! He currently is a Research Engineering Scientist V which is higher than a postdoctoral position!

This is the current career path in physical sciences and in particular analytical science/chemistry in the USA

1) Get your Ph.D.
2) Do a Post doc (2 years Max) (in particular if you are not from US)

3) find a academic tenure track job and make tenure in about 4-6.

or find a industrial job and become group leader in 4-6 years

If neither on of those things happen, and you stuck in titles such a "assistant research professor" or "Research Engineering Scientist V", you are just a glorified post doc end of story.

He came and gave a talk, I asked about 4 questions on what he where the highlights of his talk and they wer all well outside his grad school work. His response/answer was that he didn't actually do the primary work and he just used them.

Lets just say I deflated his chances of getting hired.

yup, top 40 analytical scientist without a full time job 6+ years after his Ph.D. People make tenure by that time. Do you know what that means?

He came through canada route, not a direct American university's.anyway congratulate Pakistanis it is a big thing for them.

yup, chuck lucy's group (https://www.ualberta.ca/science/about-us/contact-us/faculty-directory/charles-lucy). The hiring manager who invited him (an Indian, BTW) got all mad at me about my pointed questions.

Are you a chemist?
