last thing our defence industries lack innovation and the thirst for doing better.. We should invest some money in R&D,divide production teams, ask for prototypes from private firms.. Defence industry completely lacks competition.

The above is a Casspir. It is a South African armored vehicle which was developed in the 1970s under joint co-operation with Israel. It is used by many countries including the USA and India. During the Iraq invasion it proved to be invaluable to the Americans and was also widely used in Afghanistan. It has a proven reputation and comes really cheap compared to other armored vehicles since it has been in the production line for a considerable period of time. Considering Pakistan's urgent need to protect its troops battling the TTP from landmines etc, shouldn't they consider using these type of vehicles until they are in a position to design their own indigenous vehicles? If comparison is given to the Pakistani prototype and the Casspir, I am certain that you will agree that there is simply no competition between them

Cobra and Humvee are IFVs or IMVs (Infantry Mobility Vehicle). Whereas Tulpar and Bradley are AFVs.

isnt dragoon like really really old and outdated i mean shouldnt we go for something better like the m2 Bradley or tuplar which atleast have enough armor and firepower to counter any threat

So responsibility goes to HIT Taxila. They failed to make something good and before time. When Army need ASAP, they will never wait for Burraq or Razzaq development or maturity. Pakistan Military hardware makers complete FAILED to full fill military requirements.

PAF considered JF17 for replacing old fleet after 15 years to realize that Americans are not interested to provide further F16s in 90s and these military think tanks completely ******** failed to fulfill PAF needs.

Even they failed to take advantage when Pakistan became front liner with US after 9/11, that was the best time Pakistan makeup some great deal of Cobra's & F16s. Unfortunately as usual they were busy in buying BMWz and Plots....sending their children's to US.

Anyway Military advancements never wait for Burraq etc. Another example, Why Pakistan is looking (testing) VT-4 ? because Military ASAP need better tank. Army will not sit in duck position and wait for Al-Khalif 1 2 3 4 5 .. no body knws what Pakistan add in new Al-Khalid. So everything has background. In this case, Pakistan Army conduct operation in NW they need MRAPs. HIT failed completely FAILED to build/design single MRAP who full fill requirements from past 5 years.

I can live with ugly .but it looked very unstable with high center of gravity and flimsy

Thank GOD and I hope we get more from USA and also get the Chinese one with TOT rather than producing this crap
