Where does it say that you can't be friends with someone who doesn't have a religion and where does it say that I can't have religious friends.

Islam never forbade releations between peopel of different religion unless they occupy, invade or pose threat to Muslims. China for example was neither ordered to be invaded by Mohammed nor subsequent Khulf'a Rashideen. China had been the most neutral country in Muslim affairs even though it gave asylum to the expelled Persian Zorostatian royality, it also welcomed Islam with much more vigor.

Muslims and China are destined to grow.

so far i know china was mentioned once by Our prophet Muhammad pbuh.

The Prophet (Sm) says “It is Farz for every Muslim to acquire knowledge.” He also says: “Acquire knowledge from the cradle to the grave.” He again says: “If necessary, go to china for this purpose.”
