If I live in a village of some remote district, given Mehran and Mercedes with same price to choose in between, I shall simply not buy the Mercedes for which I have to travel 300km for even small nut bolts. And that what happens in reality. You will see only Toyota and Suzuki in abundance, every newcomer failed there.

Simply: No spare parts availability = car is fail.

1-Merc are not priced even at twice the price of mehran, let alone equal
2-Producers like Merc will target the niche, not the entire population. Merc may not try to target the market in the price tag of mehran. They can't have the entire population to be driving Merc but the ones who have pockets deep enough to buy one.

Pakistan is getting stable slowly but steadily and the situation has already become much better thanks exclusively to the military leadership for taking a clear and hard stand against terrorists. However the political govt is totally unstable and incompetent. Foreign investor are not fools when they see that man who is wooing them to invest in Pakistan, himself is corrupt bas*** and is owner of a number of offshore companies. We will need to get rid of these corrupt leeches first and then investment will flow in rapidly.

There's is a realistic example and there's an example which doesn't make sense. If everybody knows this on earth then I would at least call it irrational to expect something for Merc what they don't do.

One should be careful while citing statistics to make a point. The most important and meaningful data in those statistics is ROAD-TEST score of the car brands. American, Japanese, British and German car brands have good ROAD-TEST scores on average.
