Ali Ahmed Jul 11 2020

Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said that his government wants to turn Pakistan into a ‘technology superpower’ in 10 years.

In a series of tweets on Saturday, the federal minister said that under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the projects of ‘Made in Pakistan’ were adopted by his ministry. “If the projects were not adopted, stuff ranging from sanitizer to masks would either not be found in Pakistan or would have been sold in black markets.”

The minister said that today the country is not only meeting its own requirements but is also minting millions through the exports of these products.

“In the next phase, Health City is being set up on 200 acres of land in Faisalabad and Science and Technology Special Economic Zones will be built in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. In these zones, the technology industry and business will get special incentives.”

“Our real goal is to make Pakistan a technology superpower in 10 years,” he said.

Fawad also called upon other multinationals of other countries to invest in Pakistan, offering them tax benefits and location incentives.

“I call upon multinationals of USA, China, Russia, Korea, Japan, and EU to join hands with us rest assure Pakistan will ensure the most competitive environment and most relaxed tax structure for tech business our doors are open,” announced Chaudhry.

it seems very unrealistic and we are much far behind from this.It will take at least 20 to 30 years provided govt is actually able to improve education system and industrial structure improves
Don't wait til the government takes action. Even in Pakistan hardware and internet access are becoming cheap now, if our people would stop visiting only those special sites and would start using the internet as educational tool, we could be able to educate our people. I often use fiverr and the Pakistani or Bengali developer are as good as the German ones. But the Bengali demands 100 USD for the whole project, but the German one demands 100 USD per hour for a mediocre website... @IQRA S.

Ok so we have another superpower? How many superpowers do we have now? :yahoo:
With Sri Lanka? Minus 1.

building website is much easier and basic knowledge of programming as well as cms have made it much easier to develop website even without using coding, main advancement in this field requires developing new type of software using coding in innovative manner and ability to sell it to international market.

It is very good to be ambitious and have a goal in mind, but to make such ridiculous claims is just stupid.
