Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday told tribal elders in Waziristan that Pakistan has “fought an imposed war inside our country," and that "we shall not fight any such war again inside Pakistan”.

The premier had travelled to Miranshah earlier in the day accompanied by Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan. This was his first visit to the newly-merged tribal districts of North Waziristan.

“No other country or armed forces have done what Pakistan and its military have done in the war against terrorism,” PM Khan was quoted as saying by Inter-Services Public Relations.

Furthermore, the premier reportedly said that Pakistan will play its “role in the Afghan peace process along with other stakeholders as peace in Afghanistan is critical for achieving enduring peace in Pakistan”.

The prime minister also lauded the people of erstwhile Fata for “courageously facing challenging and difficult times of terrorism”, the ISPR said.

Upon his arrival to Miranshah earlier in the day, the prime minister had been briefed on the security situation, ongoing stability operations, socio-economic projects and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Officials had earlier said the premier is expected to announced a large package for the region and will also announce the establishment of a major hospital and sports complex in Miranshah.

Seven districts of the erstwhile Fata were merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the wake of the 25th Constitutional amendment. This is the head of government's first visit to the region after its merger with the province.

Does this mean that no internal threats are regarded as existential any longer?

hate this narrative, this is our fcuking war, we lost soldiers , kids ,women , men .. for fcuk sake

. .
Then this is Pakistan's own war for survival, and not imposed by anyone else.

What is being said here is...there are two different wars going on here.

1. There is the one Pakistan is fighting against the terrorists on Pakistani terms.

2. Then there is the American war against terrorists on American terms.

Pakistan will continue 1 and not 2.

The distinction between the two is more contrived than real, in my view. It is the same fight against terrorists without specific terms.

No, it just your opinion. An uninformed one.

Americans are not sincere with or for Pakistan. While Pakistan's war conducted by Pakistan for Pakistan is what is good for Pakistan.

No foreigners will ever have a genuine interest in the betterment of the natives. Only the natives will do what is ultimately good for themselves.

Human physiology 101.

Actually, human psychology does not apply here, but International Geopolitics 101, where every country serves its own national interests. Pakistan's national interests are best served by eliminating all terrorists equally, without any distinction. Not going after some of them will only create more problems, as we can see from the evidence before everyone.

As long as Pakistan pushes them out of its territory on its term... It doesn't need to join any foreign power which lack the moral authority.

Human physiology and geopolitics have similar human undercurrents. Its everyone acting in their own self interests.

Pakistan first.

Similar in some aspects, yes, but very different in many others. Pakistan first is a great theme, but existential threats arising from within remain paramount, in addition to others in the region. That is the bottom line.

Americas war is for American self interest

Whats so difficult to understand

Of course, every nation serves its own national interests.

Semantics... However fundamental truth remains ... Every nation should do what is in its own interests not necessarily for others.

Pakistan first is beyond a theme. This war is instigated and perpetuated by external threat who don't put Pakistan first.

Your point about the cause of the war that Pakistan finds itself engaged in may or may not be valid, but it becomes futile once the war has been brought home. It is now Pakistan's war to fight, regardless of what caused it. After all, in human terms, if someone sets fire to one's house, who should put it out? Watching it burn while telling those who set the fire to put it out is not going to work very well.
